Re: Reloads for .204 ruger.

R10X, H4895 and Tac have all worked well for me as has BM. If your rifle won't shoot 39 Sierra bullets well trade it off for another. Almost every 20 cal rifle I've been around shoots the 39's well if nothing else works. By the way, that last grain of powder to reach the max doesn't produce very muc...

Re: Light weight barrel 204

Jim, I got this barrel on a trade so I don't know if it is a special order or regular production. It is 18" ss, threaded, rifle length gas system .750, 10 twist. I made a mistake about woa( have a couple of their barrels) the brand on this one says black hole weaponry.

Re: Light weight barrel 204

I just built one with 18inch woa light contour barrel and I love it. Not quite as slim taper as you described but close. The balance and handling are great. I'm shooting 32 Vmax into 5/8 inch at 100 yards. Have not checked with chronograph but I don't really care. Out the window, over the hood, or c...

Re: Scope for .204!

Just like it is hard to find one rifle that does everything well, you will have a similar problem with scopes. In your situation I would be trying to figure out which Leupold to order. If they don't offer the combination of features you desire their custom shop will build it.

Re: Who makes a 204 AI barrel ....?

I fiddled with the 204R AI last winter. I just used an old Savage 26 inch 12 twist barrel. Set it back a 1/4 inch and rechambered. Win brass held 1 1/2 to 2 grains more than standard. This is a very straight case as well as slightly increased shoulder. Velocity did increase about 150fps. Does requir...

Re: 1st shoot, NOT so flat trajectory ?!

Moto, I have to call BS on that one. What you have described is not possible. Sand bag yourself into a good solid bench and shoot that rifle at a paper target at known ranges. If you still have those results, I suggest you read the label on your rifle box and check the cartridges because you must be...

Re: 204 extractor

I had a similar problem with a 700 in 223. My gunsmith found a rough spot in that chamber, polished it for me and I haven't had any problems since with the Remington extractor.

Re: Barrel length

JW, A few years back I would have agreed with you whole heartedly. 4 years ago while helping a friend develop loads for his new rifle we sat down with the chrony and started working up to the max load. I think we were using Benchmark but that really doesn't matter. In .2 increments we only gained 27...

Re: Barrel length

I have studied this at the bench with chrono and in the field. My conclusion from thousands of rounds fired is with 39&40 grain bullets you gain very little with longer than 24 inch barrel and also very little, if any, gain from the last 1/2 grain of powder approaching maximum. An 11 twist 24 in...

Re: .20 39g sbk wanted in the uk

The lady at the UPS store was dumber than the package of bullets. She didn't want to send them because of the gun powder. After I explained there was no gun powder, just lead and copper, she quoted me $100. I believe at that point I verbally challenged her intelligence at which time she told me that...

Re: .20 39g sbk wanted in the uk

This is really a pain in the butt. Does anybody have experience and/or advice for shipping overseas, especially to England? We decided to send a small number of bullets for a trial run and they have not arrived yet. Information about the customs process is hard to come by. Everybody seems to know it...
