Re: CZ 527 in 221 Fireball. What to Do?
If it were me, I would seriously consider converting your CZ over to a 20 Var Targ. You already have a very good platform to work with, and you still have a wildcat that you will have to work with. As far as what your CZ is worth, it is only worth what someone is willing to pay you for it. Just my 2...

Re: Coaxial Front Rest for shooting Skippy
My choice for shooting skippy is whats called a Varminter Rest. Don't know if this particular model is still available or not, but I still see a few different variations of my rest on the market. Been using this rest for maybe 45 years now. Really fast, and fine adjustments for elevation. The stock ...

Re: 204 Accuracy Potential
As to the original question, I believe a custom build, bolt rifle would tend to be the most accurate way to go. And I do think it depends on how much money, and time you are willing to throw into your project. For some of us, we don't have unlimited funds for such an endeavor. For myself, pers...

Info on some of the shortages
If you want to learn a little more about some of the shortages we are experiencing for the supplies we need to keep shooting; here is a web site you may want to check out. Do a search on, jade helm 15. Personally, I am not a conspiracy nut, but some interesting reading on what our gubment is u...

Don't rule out the Howa's, for factory rifles. Very accurate right out of the box, and easy finding that very special load!

Re: Why no H4198 Loads?
I use H4198 in my 20 VarTarg. Never even considered it in my 204. IMHO, the burn rate for H4198, is a little on the Fast side for the 204. There are a lot of better suited powders out there for the 204. Some of which Skipper mentioned in his post. My personal choices being RE10x for the 39 grn SBK's...

Re: The Bunny and the Vartarg
Way to go Rick. I've noticed around my moms place, the jacks are making a come back. None around her place for years, now every time I go out to have dinner with her, I see jacks of all sizes around her place. Since shooting is a no no, me thinks my pellet gun will be the answer!

Re: Range finder.
I used to have a Bushnell 1000,that I used for more than 10 yrs shooting skippy. It was spotty at best :wall: . Last year I happened to be shooting with a fellow shooter on a trip to make skippy fly. He let me use his Leica 1200 to range some targets for him when he was shooting. I noticed right off...

Now that is some funny stuff! Like RIO said " I feel your pain, and will do my best to keep you in my thoughts next time we're out launching our favorite rodent in grand fashion. We'll invoke your name whilst doing so. You'll be there in spirit anyway, next best thing, right? Readi...

Re: loading 32g nosler bt
In your reloading manuals, just look for any load using these powders and a 32 gr. bullet combination. If you start at the low end, you should be OK. But as recommended with any unknown combination, start at the low end of the recommended loads and work your loads upwards slowly and be diligent look...

Re: Damaged Crown
We shoot at 300, 500 & 600 yrds each Saturday when possible OK that explains why you went right to 300 yards . But you need to know where the bullet is grouping at 100yds first. This will at least tell you something about the rifle and bullet you are shooting. I would suggest trying the 39 gr S...

Re: Friday fun with "Skippy"
we can legally shoot out of our rigs in Oregun and that's how I setup Because of me being disabled, here in the Commie state of Kalifornia, I can legally shoot out of my vehicle, but only for taking game, including skippy. I do have to have my permit with me when shooting out of my vehicle. If I am...

Re: Damaged Crown
Something I don't understand here, is why do you want to shoot at 300 yards to see what your unfamiliar rifle will do as far as groups. :chin: IMHO the 32's would not be my choice for checking groups at 300 yards in the first place, especially not knowing the twist of said rifle. The 39grs might be ...
