Re: Where do you guys buy your supplies?

I have also purchased from those listed above and recently made a couple of small online purchases to "ManVenture Outpost". Overall cost is usually a little cheaper... Website is a little clunky, shipping seems to be more than it should be but overall cost a little less and delivered as pr...

Re: 260 Remington Loose Primer Pockets

Thanks Bill, I wasn't after speed. Afer doing two ladder tests first one was at 200 yards loaded 43-45.5gr H4350 at +.5gr each all looked good no signs of pressure... Put all 6 shots in a 1 inch group. So I did the same test at 400 yards 43-45.2gr at +.3gr each. No pressure signs (if there was it wa...

Re: 260 Remington Loose Primer Pockets

Thanks Bill K.... What book you using, I'm guessing that you used data for 125gr bullets? I will definetly drop back 44.3 or less as the lower spot on the ladder test was 43.8 - 44.4

Greatly appreciated

260 Remington Loose Primer Pockets

I did a ladder test @ 400 yards with 123 Amax and H4350 powder with twice fired factory Remington Brass (prepped), CCI BR2 Primers. Had two sweet spots 43.8 - 44.4 and 44.7 - 45.3. The later looked better with no visable pressure sighs!!! Load Data for 123's hard to find, I researched and thought to...

Re: WS2

Thanks RIO, I have been using a small cylindrical cantainer, about 2.5" dia x 4" long inside the vibritory tumbler. I had about the right ratio for a box of .204 35gr Bergers, but not 6.5mm 140gr Amax's. I only did about 1/3 box of the 6.5's. Man them 6.5's is long. I got plenty of BB's, b...

WS2

I've coated many .204 bullets with WS2, with good results. I just got me a Savage 12 LRP in 260 Remington. When coating these 6.5mm bullets with WS2, I beleive that they are coming out a little rough... Is this from too many bullets and not enough BB's! I was also thinking maybe I vibrated them too ...

Re: Superperformance powder

I have a copy of the new Hornady® Handbook of Cartridge Reloading 8th Edition and it states that it's supposed to have loads for the Superperformance powder that include the 22-250 REMINGTON, 243 WINCHESTER, 243 WINCHESTER SUPER SHORT MAGNUM, 6mm REMINGTON, 25 WINCHESTER SUPER SHORT MAGNUM and the 3...

Re: New Leupolds

RIO- I have often wondered why Leupold does not make a high magnification variable power scopes such as 8-32,10-50 or 12-42. Any ideas on why they don't. Anyways that is/was my wish for a new Leupold in 2011.

Re: scope problems - not enough adjustment

Or you could use a set of Burris Signature Rings with the Pos-Align Offset Inserts. on sale here http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=712472 . This is one of the best systems for mounting a scope in a pair of rings. I used them to optically center for both elevation and windage at 400...

Re: Hawkeye Joe

Hawkeye Joe, Is the rifle on top the 6.5 creedmoor. Either way I'm interested in full details on your 6.5 creedmoor build. Mainly barrel manufacture and length. Is it a target action! Are you using all factory loads. Have you shot it at 400-600 yards. I was thinking of buying or building a Savage (m...

Re: Different varmints

Only in New Zealand would a too many Turkey's be a varmint. LOL
There are no hunting seasons and no limits on turkey in New Zealand, and the birds receive very limited hunting pressure. You can hunt them 365 days a year.

Man I can't wait for spring Gobbler season in the states.

Re: Scope Canting

That link explained scope cant real simple. I was in the process of installing my homemade device anyways. :chin: Correcting cant would appear to be one the easiest corrections to make and monitor. I used to always level crosshair with target or backdrop. Now I'll do some testing with a level! http:...
