Alliant Powders Suspended Shipments Of Smokeless Powders For Reloading

O picked this up on the wire today. It may or may not impact some of us in the near future but its possible it could in the long haul as supplies tighten up if this plays out.

Re: The Annual 2024 Rat Rodeo

Bill...as I was flying back west from the east coast last week I noticed when peeking out the window there was still an abundant amount of snow on the hills in the Rockies and the Cascades. Hopefully you'll be thawed out soon...Jim

Re: bench rests

Shakey, in the competitive shooting world there are terms such as NPA [Natural Point of Aim], front sight-sight alignment-trigger control. Hopefully these tips will help you and anyone else here who reads them; 1. NPA; whether you're shooting from a bench or offhand/standing at 200 yards, prone at 1...

Re: bench rests

Shakey...one thing I would consider in this venue is get the best you can afford. I believe in the; "buy-once & cry-once" theory. It's been my experience that if you have to upgrade later on, one has probably spent more $$$ had they bought the superior one right out the gate. For me, y...

Re: RIP Master Scout Sniper Chuck Mawhinney

If this forum had a sub-forum for general discussion, this would have been placed there, but it ended up in Centerfire Rifles due to no other forum choice. That's too bad, as when newbies open this forum and see only categories related to the 204R and varmint-oriented sub categories, many posts get...

Re: My New rifle and new member

To that end, there was an excellent article in the now defunct Precision Shooting Magazine in the mid-90's that featured an extensive test of actual primer flames as seen with a high-speed camera in a dimly lit environment. All popular brands of primers were tested, and it clearly showed that the 7...

Re: My New rifle and new member

In addition to the ones Rick mentioned, I've had good luck with RL-15, H4895, N135, N540 and 8208-XBR. Primers, I stick to Remington 7 1/2 for the most part although I have CCI and Federal on hand if needed.

Re: Leupold VX recticle change

The Leupold Custom Shop is not taking orders at this time. In the recent past, that reticle change ran $65, and many of my scopes were modified at nominal cost such as adding the excellent M1 elevation turret and said reticle changes. When asked when these services would resume, we were told "...

Re: I think I am official as an OF

Folks, It's the dumbing down of America and I must say, it's not getting any better, particularly these days when school boards put more emphasis on what's between ones legs instead of what is between their ears. I see this because I've had kids & grandkids in the school system from the late 198...

Re: The plunk test

I scanned your list for Golden Sabers and there they were!! But not in a good way....I was also surprised to see XTPs didnt get 100 %. Those are 2 bullets with a good reputation. Maybe its just marketing. Tom...where the Hornady XTP took a down check in comparison to some others was due to bullet l...
