Re: Optimal twist rate for 40 gr. bullets?

My Cooper MVT, in .223, has a 1-14 twist.
It will shoot 40 grain Nosler BT into one hole at 50 yds.
And under 1/2" at 100 yds.
Would probably due 1 hole at 100 yds, if I would do my part.

I don't know, but you could see the vapor trail of the bullets, which was pretty cool.

Re: Rem. 700 VSSF-ll, in 204 Ruger

I thought this was a fair price, if you don't think so, make me an offer.
I'll leave it on here for a few days, then move it to gunbroker.

Rem. 700 VSSF-ll, in 204 Ruger- SOLD

I bought this rifle new in 2009. I have maybe 50 rounds down it, and it was properly broken in. Comes with the Lucas bore guide I bought for it. Never got around to working up a load for it. However, it does shoot my Cooper load into 1" groups at 100 yds. I don't like the palm swell grip on the...

Re: discrepancy in load data

I'm by no means an expert, but I bet if you look at 4 different loading manuals.
You'll find 4 different starting and max loads listed for a specific load.
Just depends on what case, primer, and barrel is used.

How to clean inside brass

I bought 100 rounds of 6mm reloads, just for the brass. I pulled the bullets, which were starting to corrode at the brass. I had to dig the powder out of the brass with a small screwdriver. It appeared wet and clumpy, came out hard. I removed the primers, but my concern is that I may have some resid...

Leupold Scope Question

Bear with me, if I don't use the proper terminology. I have a FX-lll, 12X40, 1" tube, long range duplex reticle, with the tall target type turrets. I don't use the turrets to adjust for height, while shooting, as I have the dots on the bottom crosshair. I've also got a VX-ll, 6-18X40, 1" tu...
