Re: Did i make a mistake

I am pretty sure your GF needs to buy you a new gun. Send that worn out gun to me, and get yourself a new Cooper.

Re: Your favourite bore cleaner

Try the MPRO-7 products, especially the copper remover.

Re: 204 magazine options

I had the same problem and I saw a post on the PredatorMaster forum about how to fix the problem. You have to file or grind out the ridge for the first 3 or 4 inches and they work fine after that. I hope this helps you. I was ready to get rid of my new Pmags. Jimmy http://www.predatormastersforums....

Lija is out of .204 drop-in bbls, but plan to have them available in February.

Re: Source for a Short AR 204 barrel??

Thanks Rick, I got your PM.

You have given me several good ideas, some great insight, and added confidence to keep moving forward.

So, what about the rest of you guys?

Got some tips for a barrel build on a 18" AR (in .204 of course)?

Re: Source for a Short AR 204 barrel??

Rick, Thanks for the tip. I think I have seen photos of the rifle you have. A few more semi-newbie questions I am just getting started on the AR. My upper, lower, and BCG are from CMT Tactical ( I got in on a great group deal, about 50% off) - https://www.cmttac.com/AR-15_Upper_Lower_Receivers?produ...

Re: Source for a Short AR 204 barrel??

Rick, Tons of stuff in AR, but very very few for .204 Ruger. Just to make sure, from the link you gave, I clicked on every single AR style barrel at Brownells. I only saw the two that I had seen earlier - a 24" DPMS and a 24" Shilen (w/bolt). Are you suggesting that I try for a special ord...

Source for a Short AR 204 barrel??

Anyone know where to find a 20" Shilen .204 barrel or something else in the 20" or less ?

I am trying to collect parts, and so far all I have located is the 24" versions. Shilen does not make the 20" models right now, and they blew me off when I asked.

Thanks, Bert

Re: Rem 700 suggestions

Thanks for the info Bert. Do you think it would be wise to move to a slower burning powder with such a short barrel? Won't I run into the problem of not burning all the powder? I'll let the experts on the forum answer on powder burn theory, but... my empirical results happen to include a Howa 1500 ...

Re: Rem 700 suggestions

Both of my rifles are finicky. Neither like to shoot under 1 MOA, but will run under 0.5 MOA with a few loads. I have tried about a dozen different projectiles and 6-8 powders in a few hunded variations. In general, the most forgiving projectile I have found so far is the 35 Gr Berger Varmint Match ...

Re: WC-842 Powder ?

SO..... Considering Sierra Blitzkings in 32 & 39 grains... Where should I start my test loads? I am thinking OAL of 2.250" (to keep it simple) and 24.0 gr (Sierra 32) & 23.5 gr (Sierra 40) respectively of 842. Primers will be Tula SRP for now (they are playing pretty good on the other t...

Re: WC-842 Powder ?

http://www.gd-ots.com/2011%20Brochures/BALL%20POWDER%20Propellants.pdf This is useful, and makes sense with what I have experienced. Per the chart the 842 powder is (nominally ??) faster than 844 (an analog to H335). My numbers have indeed been closer to H335 than CFE-223 figures. I will post this ...
