Ha! I love it..... you're my kind of guy Skip. I don't want to publish what I drive here for fear of retribution, but I like to go fast too, and my cars mirror that need for speed...(pun intended). I may have to add power to the reloading room soon, this stuff is starting to rub off on me too...

If it was getting dark with barely enough light to see, and he was a dark colored dog, at 40 yards, are you sure he was a stray and didn't have a collar?

It would sure be a big bummer if he has an owner somewhere looking for his pooch..... :?

We had to use a spotting scope to even find them initially, then once you knew the general area to look at, they appeared as the tiniest dot imaginable. You're right though, they disappeared in a huge cloud of dust at impact. We have no idea at all if we even hit one, but that was not why the 50's w...

Well, 1200 yards could be considered "mid-range" for the .50 BMG, as it's effective combat range is 2500 yards. The scope is a Mk-4 16x40mm w/mil-dot reticle. Pretty effective rigs. I can only imagine the rush torchng one off and nailing a SCUD hidden away from our air support. It sure sav...

Trim dies are hardened at the factory. A file won't touch them, giving many years of service, but a stone will break right through the case hardening right away. Just imagine a surface grinder in a machine shop; it surfaces steel, all steel. But it uses a stone on the steel to grind it away.....

Something tells me there's going to be alot of very unhappy rodents in the near future! Rock 'n roll.....life is good with a brand new...

Ha Skip! I knew you'd bite on that one. Really, neck turning for a factory barrel does have one advantage: all your brass will have no high spots in the necks, they will all be identical, and identical brass is what makes one hole groups. You only want to remove the high spots though, no more ...

guns: You have done your homework well my friend. Only a couple of notes: You are going to have very good accuracy with the criteria you've set forth, but if you do only two more steps, your quarter mile PD quest will have not been in vein. 1. You DO want to uniform your primer pockets; failure to ...

I used to spend my summers there, dinking around and chasing girls at Lake Kalamalka in high school. I also lived up island in Woss Camp, wor...

The .204 "Launch Factor"

Here's a shot of Skippy learning to jump, courtesy of the 204. Not the highest launch, as good pics are hard to get, but a good launch nonetheless. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g66/packrat1/img180.jpg I put a motor drive on my 35mm camera, and got some good "launch sequences" that day...
