Re: Hornaday brass

Fully agree Jim D, Each of us must make and learn for ourselves . And yes I have learned a lot by asking and reading questions/answers posted by others. A few good reloading manuals/books are also there for us to draw on and learn and play our sport safely. A person just has too weed out the one's t...

Re: Hornaday brass

Just remember some will complain about a new rope ( pun intended). It matters not what you or someone likes and has no issues with, someone will come back with how terrible it is. I have used Hornady brass in several weapons and it has worked just fine. Maybe some of the so called custom brass is be...

Re: Bought a cheep new .22 bolt rifle hope its ok

Well Robert, I guess I will give you a response.. I do not have and can not offer any info for you, on your rifle, make/model, but if it shoots accurately and you like it, just enjoy it. Bill K :)

Hodgdon's Data site shows a start load of 26 grains, with max of 27.3. Check it out on their loading site. Bill K :)

Re: Thinkin its boyds stock time

Like the Boyd's stocks. Have some right now and am thinking of adding a couple more to a couple rifles. For sure one, think I might go with the Sky lami, just for some color. I have the Nutmeg and they are nice. Bill K

Re: Big bullet drop

Waiting now too see if you find out that you miss-dialed the scope. My shooting partner, did just such a thing, the last chuck hunt and missed 3 times, shooting about 1-2 ft low, when the rifle and all were dead on the trip prior. Bill K

Re: Big bullet drop

I would say or think the same. At 4200 plus, that bullet should not drop that much. I would recheck the FPS, then run another 100 yard group, then a 200 yard one and then another at 100, back too back and see what you come up with. Just does not compute with a drop of 4 inches. Bill K

Re: Primer choices

The main reason, I see and feel for the use of the Rem 7.5's, is due to the thicker cup material and therefore they will not pierce the primes, unless you really go over board on pressure, compared to the more standard one's. (there are a few others with thicker primer cups, also however i.e. CCI #4...

Re: 2016, good season!

Don't know how you can kill those animals with just a 30-06 ? If you read all the hot shot articles, it can't be done without the 338x plus big boomer magmums.. Just joshing.. I have killed more game with the 30-06 and 25-06 than with some of the magnums, I also have. It and the tried and true...

Re: new here with question about 8208 xbr powder

That is the nature of our hobby and also our rifles and handguns. Each is it's own beast and you need to try various combinations and find the one your weapon likes the best. Part of our fun, is the reloading and study. Bill K

Re: new here with question about 8208 xbr powder

Just got off the phone with hogdon and they were very helpful .gave me starting and stopping weights for my 204 and 22-250 Good Robert. I have always found Hodgdon to be very helpful. I do have a extra 2016 annual, had a mixup in a order, that I would give/send too you. If you would want it. Bill K...
