Re: found CFE223
Agree, enjoy the grouping you are getting. My 204R does very well with CFE223 also. Always remember a slow accurate bullet trumps a fast inaccurate one.

Re: The Annual 2024 Rat Rodeo
Yes Rick it is beginning to warm and sun shine more. However some light rain predicted the next day or two. But I am seeing a few chucks sunning now and then, so they will begin coming out more often. Just let the young one's grow a little more, then look out. GS's are beginning to pop up in places,...

Re: New .204 options
Yes and no on the twist issue. The 1/12 twist often will be borderline on grouping with the heavy bullets. A really good balance, seems to be a 1/11 twist, which it appears most of us with the 204R use. However saying that again, maybe your rifle and 1/12 will shoot them, with a load you work up. Ho...

Re: New .204 options
Either rifle you are looking at will do the job. I would favor the Ruger rifle and with the 1/12 twist you will find the 39 grn bullet will be a better choice as most 1/12 twists seem not to like the 40 grn bullet, as for best accuracy and grouping. Saying that however any coyote hit with the 39 grn...

Re: The Annual 2024 Rat Rodeo
Thanks Rick. My area is just now starting to warm, but the wind being cool yet, seems to be keeping them down, for the most part. In time I will get more shooting in.
Looks like all of you fellows had a good time and nice weather. Again Thanks for sharing all of that.

Re: 204 Ruger, which factory rifle?
Looks like a decent set up for a walk about rifle. Should not be that heavy with the sling. How does it group with your loads, etc. ?

MTPaul: I believe 99% of the members on this forum would feel and agree with your comments.
As for exploring other cartridges, you should really add a 20 VT in to fit so nicely between the Hornet and the 204R. It is one fine shooting cartridge and you would fully enjoy it also.

For me anyway, anymore the major news and what and how the libs are doing Rick, is nothing but a joke, however it is really hurting a lot of decent and lawful citizens in the old Republic.

Re: Members Lounge Rules
Hope all had a fine Easter and did whatever you enjoy on the day, with family making it the best.
It did surprise me however, that we made it through the day without a single April Fools Joke, unless I missed it/them.

Re: Guests for Breakfast
Interesting Rick how the areas we live in are so entertaining. We have a lot of those critters right in our area also. Cougars are trapped or killed every year in the cabin area and even close to a couple local schools. Bears, some coons, skunks, fox and coyotes are often seen right around my place ...

Re: Guests for Breakfast
Well this morning a nice fresh and heavy snow fall, about 1/2 ft so far. But in come the girls for breakfast. Enjoy. Had my cardio shvoling the berm from in front of the garage doors, so I don't back it down driving out.
