Re: 224 Valkyrie's first coyote

The 6.8 necked down to .224 is the Valkyrie. I am not familiar with the .22 GAP. I talked to a customer about his 22-250 with a 1:7 twist, I believe he said he got a 10 inch group at 1,000 yards. The only issues with the 22-250 is the slow twist, especially the older ones with a 1:14 (?)twist. Some ...

Re: 224 Valkyrie's first coyote

Glad to hear that you can still shoot the lighter bullets in it, wondering about that. I have been thinking about the 6.8 case necked down to 6mm or the 22-250 with a 1:6.5 or 1:7 twist for coyotes. This would shoot the heavier 22 bullets. They would make great long range coyote guns as well as rock...

Re: 224 Valkyrie's first coyote

Have you shot the heavier bullets with the Valkyrie? I thought it would shine with the heavier bullets. What group sizes are you getting with the lighter 50 grain bullets? How far was your shot on the yote? There was no tracking involved!!

Re: Who Said Squirrels Can't Fly?

So glad to see you guys having fun. The sage rats were out before the snow storm hit my area in Washington but they are not out well now. We had a hard cold spell with lots of snow that may have affected the numbers now.

Re: >>>>WTB 20 VARTARG DIES and BRASS<<<<<

I would buy new stuff, I know I am not interested in selling the equipment that is shooting well in my rifle. Look at Redding dies and Lapua 221 Fireball brass.

Re: Glock 26 suitable for carry??

I have carried a Glock 27, 40 cal. for several years. It has never malfunctioned and I can hit what I aim at. I put a rubber sleeve over the grip as I have large hands and had fingers underneath the grip. It works great and shoot it one handed very well. Rick, the metal targets are always fun and mo...

Re: .224 Valkyrie

I held the Savage Valkyrie at the Portland Sportsman's show. It is nice but I am not an AR guy. Their competition shooter was there and said that Savage will come out with a bolt action rifle in that caliber soon. I did find a different location that sells the bolt head for about $60. Savage said th...

Re: .224 Valkyrie

That is true Bill, but that is how I discovered the 204 and 20 VarTarg and will always have them. Sometime you need something new to play with. I did not jump on the 6.5 or 6mm Creedmoor wagon. My concern is the 6.8 brass, my 6mm brass options are pretty slim. Winchester is actually making it for re...

Re: .224 Valkyrie

There will be factory manufactured ammunition available soon. Many of the 22-250s have slow twists and cannot shoot the 90 and 100 grain 22 bullets for long range shooting.

.224 Valkyrie

Anyone shot the 224 Valkyrie yet? Looks like an interesting round that can shoot out to 1,300 yards.

Sorry to hear about the medication adjustment. At least you are getting some good shooting in. Get better quickly and show us some dead coyote pictures soon!

Nice job on the video. It got me motivated to reload all my 204 and 20 VarTarg brass for prairie dog time this year.

Re: New Ruger 6mm Creedmoor rifles

The 6mm Creedmoor rifle has been popular with the PRS competition people for some time. They are happy with the accuracy and is one of the top 4 calibers used. They also said you will get about 1,500 shots before the barrel needs to be replaced for competition. They said you will get about 2,500 out...
