no i bought nosler at 1 pound a piece in the uk and the primer pockets were very very tight and when i first opened the box and looked at them i found coils of trimmings inside the brass .if i would have done what the box says just load and shoot i would have had some fun.it is good once sorted but ...

just to finish the thread as such it all came together and floating the barrel certainly did more good than harm .its a factory rifle on a harris bipod and is shooting around the .30"which i might be able to tweak more but that is about as good as i can shoot which is all one can ask from a rif...

dropped my powder to find a second better accuracy load.i'm now running 23.5 of rl10x so tame but grouping consistently.

cheers rfd i have dremeled it out and it floats to the action now.made no difference to groups mind but hopefully when the barrel gets warm poi will be solid.is your rifle heavy now ? i want to keep mine light and filling it with concrete i suspect won't do this :D

barrel floating

guys on my tikka the barrel is not floated all the way,would this be bad for accuracy? any tikka owners found this?i'm getting inconsistant accuracy .25 one min .60 the next no real reason or pattern.

yes thanks all info helps.i'm treating my 204 to a swarovski z6i today and i'll see how it groups then.last time i had one of these scopes my groups tightened up a tad.there is just something about that illuminated dot that focuses my eye.once on its time to have a propper play with seating deapth. ...

cheers for that again ,i have a comparator but looking on the favorite loads page i asumed folks were giving the complete length or i'm seating waaay to deep .

thankyou i thought 5 thou at a time would be ok.oacl from base to tip is 2.253 and it might be as good as it gets.not even going to try and touch the lands in the tikka as it would be longer than the mag .

hi guys ,can i ask when your fine tuning your seating depth how much do you move at a time with the .204?i was thinking 5 tho at a time but is that too much?

toasty in that wind if i was honest that was about as good as i can shoot.i have a silencer due this week wich might tighten things up a tad too.will try seating as they are again with different seating depths next outing. and post findings bud.did you alter your seating 10 tho at a time or less?
