Re: Remington Model 700 VS SF II VS. Savage Model 12 LRPV DBM?

Gary, my current and only 1911 is a Colt Custom Shop 1991A1 Limited Model, it's got some stuff that I'd have had done to it, if I'd bought a plain old pistol, beavertail, Videcki long trigger@4 pounds, Navidrex grips, magwell, and some other "refinements". Minor stuff, really, just enough ...

Re: Remington Model 700 VS SF II VS. Savage Model 12 LRPV DBM?

Now Gary, I'm old and tired, I don't want to fight. I'll just drag out the 1911 and fix this quick.   But, if you go all the way back to the beginning of this forum, from DAY ONE, you'll find more complaints from the Remington guys than all the others. Like I said, I don't know why, ...

Re: Remington Model 700 VS SF II VS. Savage Model 12 LRPV DBM?

OTOH,  :D , of all the complaints we hear about here, most of the complaints come from Remington users, overall. I haven't tallied them up, but since I've read most, if not all the posts, it seems like the Remington users have more complaints than any other brand. I dunno why that is...

http://www.204ruger.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6021 Here's one thread, there are a bunch more, about 15 pages back :? I've had good success with Benchmark and AA2230-C, others are working with 4895 and Re-15, but if you look further, there are a bunch of folks trying these out. I get a flier ...

Re: IMR 8208

My boss at work tried two different lots in his 6PPC benchrest rig yesterday, and with both lots, using equal charges, the loads chrono-ed within 5FPS of each other. He mentioned that it seemed to work best when pressures were "up there", so maybe a little more work is indicated. I haven't...

Re: Help me find my Cooper

I saw some "plywood" Coopers on the previous trip down there, but none this time around. Either they sold well enough, or Darrell sent them back, I dunno which. It was the first time I'd seen a Cooper in laminate, which didn't excite me any, to tell the truth. When I think Cooper...

Re: Best reloading manual for 204R

Right here, of course!! Go to the top of the page, click on 204 load data, and print up all the stuff there. We got it from the same folks who print up those manuals (some of which need updating in a ferocious way :( ) Hornady's book is probably best, since they update it the most often, i...

Re: Help me find my Cooper

Hey, I was riding down there anyway, to help get over the cabin feveritis-ness. I only spent $5 on gas, riding with a couple other guys who were also experiencing winter blues, and got to eat at the World Famous Moonlite Bar-Be-Que, where the buffet is outstanding. I sure can't complain about that! ...

Re: Help me find my Cooper

I went and eyeballed the Cooper-in-question this morning, and it wasn't a pretty sight, in fact, it was pretty bland for a Cooper. It reminded me of my own CZ Fireball, which isn't an eyecatcher (for a CZ Fireball, I got the short end of the stick :? stockwise) Don't get me wrong, it was a nice enou...

Re: 12 BTCSS Savage

Sorry for your loss, but for fortune, so go we all. My mother's fought off breast cancer three times now, so I sorta know how you feel. It keeps you on your last nerve. If you need anything, just holler, we're all friends here. 12s are 12s, they just change stocks. 12LRPV, 12VLP, 12FVSS, 12FV, etc. ...

Re: Lets test your diagnostic know how!!!!!

Good deal! The first Savage .223 I bought, had a nice smooth barrel and shot the Sierra Blitzes really well. It was one of the older long-action rifles. I eventually got a short-action .223 to go with it, and wouldn't you know it, it would tear those Blitzes apart midway to the targets. :( That got ...

Re: My "New" CZ Hornet

Just so you know, some of us have been getting some relief on the weather. I took the hornet out yesterday and today and have come to conclude, it shoots better than me with little gun and 40 grain Sierras. Hope your weather breaks soon, as you might get into depression. Well, the weather is suppos...

Re: My "New" CZ Hornet

Well, if you can't find the rifle you want right away, go ahead and order it from a dealer you trust, even if it takes four months, it'll be worth the wait. On the other hand, I'll give a critical eyeball to the one at Whittaker's next Saturday, if the trip goes thru as currently hoped. Whittaker's ...

Re: My "New" CZ Hornet

Glenn - when you going to get out and shoot this thing???? When old man winter takes a nap, the old stinkpot has been snowin' and blowin' more than I care to mess around with. He's gettin' on my nerves a whole bunch. It's not so much the cold, but the road to the range that I use. It gets NO ...
