If the twist scares you off, Try a TC Venture.
They are a 5R barrel with a 10-twist.

How about a TC Venture.
5R Rifling, MOA guarantee, and at least here, they are about $425.

Re: Mossberg Varmint Predator
That rifle caught my eye around a year ago. It has "Been out" for quite some time, but doesn't appear to be in any semblance of production yet. Really erks me.... I am opposite of you with the nut. The appearance doesn't bother me, and I like that I can do a barrel swap and don't need a la...

Re: How to keep brass from tarnishing?
1) not unless you have Lube on them.
2) If I know they will sit, wipe them with your silicone gun/rod cloth.
3) Not IME

Re: Speer, .204 39 gr. TNT
I used 748. Don't have my notes handy for load info.
Remember that 748 really likes to be pushed hard. Their name is VERY aptly given. On rock chucks it is pretty much like a stick of dynamite stuck down their pants....

Re: wipe out no lead
Wipe Out works VERY well. I won't say that you NEVER have to use a brush, but it certainly isn't REQUIRED like with my former favorite copper eater, Sweets. One thing to remember with these newer bio-degradable type cleaners, don't mix and match with them still in your barrel. Haven't found that it ...

Re: Bedding 10/22 and seeking advice
I have never heard of anyone bedding a 10/22.
Both of mine came with a bad grouping issue. Hogue .920" barrels solved that stone cold.
I bought mine on the package deal from Natchez, or Midway. Barrel and stock combo for around $150.

Re: 40 grain bullet bc.
Do a search for "Sean Kennedy", or his "Shooter" app. That program is in connection with Brain Litz's G7 drag testings. Most manu's (Not Sierra) use a general BC. But there is no one BC. BC changes with speed. In testing that I have read by litz, and work published in Varmint Hun...

Re: Vapor trial
The vapor trail I refer to is from the bullet coming apart from excessive velocity. It happened when I used Sierra Blitz bullets (or other bullets designed for low velocity cartridges such as Hornet bullets) in the .22-250 or .220 Swift loaded to velocities in excess of 3,800 fps. When fired there ...

When it needs it.
I neck-size only, I have over 10 reloads on all of my brass, and haven't "had to" yet. However some of my once-fired 223WSSM brass has needed it...

Re: Which twist is better ?
Bill, Just to distinguish the difference between the 223 & 204 barrels....
A 12-twist in 223 will do SOME 60-62 bullets(depends on length of bullet), or ANYTHING lighter.
For the 204, although I never build a 204 AR, I agree with 247: Get the 11-twist.

As a note on RPM, I have many common 22-cal varmint bullets RPM's, from the manufacturers, listed over on shootersforum.

Re: AR 15 and clean burn
I definitely vote for Win 748!!! There are a few issues to be aware of however... Hodgdon has the "rights" to sell the Winny name, but Ohlin(winchester) is responsible for all data and reloading info. They(ohlin) haven't been holding-up their end of the deal, so Hodgdon has only posted wha...
