Re: Did i make a mistake

Don't bother with barrel break in. It didn't exist before the internet......we'll maybe it did but it was a waste of time and components then just as it is today.

Boy you've got me really confused....lol But I think it's as simple as adjusting your scope and you'll be in business.

Even on sale ammo is ridiculously expensive......makes me quite happy that I reload.

Re: I can't reload ammo this good . . .

You've got me wondering, are those 1" squares on that target? How do you measure your groups? 1/2" squares on a 4 MOA target. I measured the group outside to outside with a pair of calipers at .774" and subtracted one caliber. This isn't my first rodeo . . . I'm sure it's not.....I h...

Thanks for the report. It supports my other observations.....Velocity is good and accuracy is average. I bet that Cooper shoots a lot of different loads into little tiny groups.

Re: 40 gr. Nosler balistic tips for 1 and 12 twist

My Remington SPS 204 with the 1-12 twist won't shoot either the 40 grain V-max or 39 grain Blitzking....I didn't bother trying the Noslers. But as mentioned the 32 grainers are lights out. My Encore pro hunter 12 twist will shoot both those bullets though.....go figure. I guess you never know until ...

Re: My .204 saga - long...

I've found that it's an exception to the rule if a gun wants to be clean. The vast majority of ones that I've owned all needed to be dirty to shoot worth a darn.

Re: Barrel Break-in

I gave the whole barrel break in thing a shot. It didn't seem like it was worth the time and effort. I figured that just following a normal shoot and clean schedule will do what breaking in the barrel will accomplish without the wasted ammo. Here's an interesting read on it..... http://www.6mmbr.com...

Re: hand loads vs factory loads for accuracy

I've been reloading for quite some time. My main observation has been that almost any hand load is as accurate as any factory fodder. Even loads that I have just thrown together out shoot the factory stuff as long as the bullet weight and rifling twist will work well together. I'm sure it's a consis...

Re: Reloading kits

If I were starting from scratch I would go the same route all over again....RCBS

Here is the kit I started with

Everything you need and a few things you don't.

I read that article and wasn't surprised that they gave a glowing review of their own powder. It's worth a shot but as mentioned it's been done before.

Re: Most EXPLOSIVE projectile

I've tried a lot of different bullets in a lot of different calibers and keep coming back to the V-max for the best terminal performance.
