Re: 2013 PD Shoot

I put my new .204 Shilen select match barrel on my Savage target action yesterday and loaded up 20 cases with 29,29.5 and30 grains of Varget. I went to the range today and once I got it on paper I shot 3 into clover leaf and then had one go a little high and then #5 went into the clover leaf. Consid...

Re: 204 magazine options

If you need pictures, go to the pretator master forum and under the AR forum, look on the 2nd page for Pmag mod.

Re: 204 magazine options

I had the same problem and I saw a post on the PredatorMaster forum about how to fix the problem.

You have to file or grind out the ridge for the first 3 or 4 inches and they work fine after that.

I hope this helps you. I was ready to get rid of my new Pmags.

Re: 2013 PD Shoot

I am waiting on Shilen to send me the barrel. It takes 4 to 6 months for a Select Match .204 barrel. Have you looked at Benchmark Barrels? They tell me 4 to 6 weeks and have had both mine in 4 weeks. I have been very happy with them and they have several world records made with their barrels. They ...

Re: 2013 PD Shoot

Yep, that 300 yard stuff is what makes riflemen. I'll pass on the black flies though.....ugh! :eew: Glad to see you and your son got back out for the dogs....looks like a good time (for you, NOT the dogs!) Next time out though, you may want to consider a sun shade....we never leave home without 'em...

Re: 2013 PD Shoot

Prairie dogs are so fun to shoot. We found that shooting them between 300 and 400 yards was best. They stay up much longer. Where did you go? How do you like the D Tech 204? I used 2 Dtech's, one a 9 twist and a 12 twist and they both do great. I also used my Ruger Target Grey and it is also is ver...

2013 PD Shoot

After several years of not shooting PD's, I finally went back and my Son met me here and we had a blast. It was hot, the black flies were biting and the dogs were 300 yds or more out there. We used 3 .204's and here is a picture or 2. Jimmy http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b260/joghotrod/TribuneKan...

Re: AR reloading problem

I used to have this problen on some of my reloads and I filed the shell holder down just a .001 or so and that bumped the shoulder back a lttle more. No problems since then.

Re: Minimum Twist for 55gr Berger Bullets??

I would agree that a 9 twist is probably the minimum that you would want for the 55 berger. However I would look at a different cartridge if you want to get the most out of the 55 berger. The 204 is really is at its best with lighter bullets, the 39 sierra offers the best balance of BC and speed po...

Re: Minimum Twist for 55gr Berger Bullets??

I used some 50 grain Bergers at 600 yds in my 9 twist .204 AR with good results. Some of the guys I was shooting with were supprised that the .204 was that good out to 600 yds. The 55 grain Bergers were not available back then. I later had a 6BR upper made so I could shoot with better scores. Jimmy ...

Re: Jewell Trigger Instalation

I know what you mean. But they are sweet when you get it set the way you want it. Have fun. Jimmy I installed a Jewell Trigger in the 204 ar today. I have to say this trigger had the poorest instructions I have ever seen. The trigger was new but at least ten years old. A good friend bought it years ...

Re: anyone reload for fast-twist barrels?

Hi, all – I've just completed an AR-15 bench gun in .204 Ruger. I chose a Shilen barrel, which has a 1-9" twist rate. I specifically went with Shilen for the faster twist rate after a poor experience in a Ruger #1 with a 1-12" rate and heavier bullets. Anyone have any loads to shar...

Re: AR15 Trigger solutions????

I like my Jewell. I have the second stage set for less than a pound and it works great for PD's and when I shoot my 6BR upper at the 600 yd targets.

Re: Berger 40 Grain Match Varmint

Did you see the picture above? That was shot with a 40 grain Berger. I shot a lot of PD's with the 40's. I was using a 9 twist barrel which may make a differance, but they do work pretty good. I would rather use the 39 SBK's but in my 9 twist they come apart before the target. I have also used the 5...
