Re: 20 practical

Thanks for the link. I've read that article several times over before and after putting the rifle together, but forgot they mentioned the n-133. I'm pretty sure the powders I have will work, I'm just trying to figure out where to start. I'm comfortable with Varget and have loaded tons of .223 (same ...

20 practical

Just put a 26" 1:11 twist CBI barrel on a Savage action and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for loads. I'm pretty well stocked on bullets from working up the 204 and I have lots of Varget, n-140 and n-133 on hand. I have some Benchmark, H335, n-530 and n-135 as well. Any help would...

Re: 26 grn barnes varmint grenades

I've been using 27 grains of vv n-530 with the 26's, at 4250fps there was no problem with expansion. Down to 3 lbs and if I see any more I'm buying all of it! Yes, I am a greedy and American.

Re: Where 2 go from here?

Keep packing that N530 in there or try a different powder. Those large variations in velocity lead me to believe that the charges aren't consistent. I go for the load that gives me the best accuracy at the highest velocity. I've settled on the 39gr SBK over 28gr N140 gettin 3715fps, groups avg aroun...

Re: weaver kaspa

If the scope does what you want it to do and you think you got a good deal on it...you got a good deal. FWIW, I like the Nikon Buckminster 6-18. I have 2 and they are pretty sweet. Not impressed at all with the Vortex Viper 6-20x50 I recently bought as an "upgrade" though. The Buckmaster i...

Re: Tikka T3 Stainless Lite 204 Floating Barrel

The T3 Lite have a sporter barrel? If so just let it cool down before shooting again cause 3 shots is probably all your gonna get. I've free floated and glass bedded sporters every which way, but when the barrel gets hot ya gotta let it cool. I have a sporter bbl 243 I use as a deer rifle that is on...

Re: NEED SOME HELP FOR A STOCK

Like the Boyds Thumbhole too. Have 2 of em. That Tacticool stock looks good too. Might get 1 for my next build.
