Re: Nosler accubond lr

Thanks for the response...I was kind of thinking that myself but the bullet intreged me and they don't give them away so I was hoping they would work. I won the gun and have a few other 7mm so I wanted to go with a heavier bullet with this one. That being said the .308 is known to be very accurate a...

Nosler accubond lr

Hi all... Question. I loaded some rounds for my new 7mm08 thought I would give the accubond 175 LR a try. According to a note from nosler in the box they said to just use the load data for a bullet of the same weight. So I did starting at min and loading up to 1 grain under max, from the nosler manu...

Re: New to .204. I bought a Savage model 11 today

I don't know about Boyd's but I have a Savage model 12 that I just put a bell and Carlson stock on that bolted right up. Shrunk my groups 1/2" at 200 yds. Sorry to not really answer your question but maybe something you'd be interested in looking in to.

Re: I shot my new Savage 204 Ruger for the first time

I did the same thing, got my modified case and started checking COAL. Your gun may be different but in mine to seat bullet .020 from lands I would have had less that .1 bullet into the case. I guess I wasn't comfortable with that what are your thoughts. Also my Savage is giving me a .6 moa groups wi...

Re: I shot my new Savage 204 Ruger for the first time

Congrats on the new gun...I haven't met a soul who didn't love shooting the 204. There a lot of fun to load for but from my experience with my Savage 204 and from what I've read and heard .020 from the lands might be a stretch especially with the 32 gr(that's what I shoot) I'm around .060 from lands...

Re: ? for Advanced Reloaders

I start with a bullet I'm interested in, typically I have multiple powders laying around to get started. There is an equation to match ideal bullet to your twist rate but I'm guessing most of the 204 bullets would shoot with some testing. I think every reloader has waisted alot of time and component...

Re: Lehigh Defense

I checked out the website and some of the reviews on YouTube, looks like some radical bullets. On the website there is loading data for a select few rounds, I did some minor research and it is recommended to cross reference with a bullet of the same weight...is that where you guys have started

Re: opinion on scope for prarie dogs

I agree with everyone else on this post. I spent $600 on a vortex 4-16 and after seeing how accurate the 204 is I immediately started wondering if I should have waited and spent a little bit more. Its still in my head but need to shoot it a little more to get a better opinion on the vortex.

If you go to www.hodgdonreloading.com and put in your caliber and what grain bullet you want load data for it will give you data for Hodgdon and IMR powders

Re: Need a cat and grey fox bullet got all the reloading stu

I agree with Bob, I too just got a 204 I loaded up 24 rounds of the Hornady 32 gr v-max with 3 different powders and the 8208 was amazing. Havn't put a round into a critter yet but at 4000 fps I'm sure it will do the trick.

Re: Did i make a mistake

I have a chrony I just haven't shot through it that was my next step, I'm guessing just under 4000. From what I've read on this forum it seems less is more with this powder. 28.5 is max which I tried and wasn't very good. There's guys using 26.5gr with good results might work down from 28gr just to ...

Re: Did i make a mistake

Hornady 32 gr Vmax, 28.0 gr IMR 8208 xbr which from what I read is a pretty awesome powder, but I also read it from a Hodgdon powder magazine.

Did i make a mistake

Hi all I have been reloading for about 10 years and developed some fairly accurate rounds (around 1") for about 20 deer rifles. For Christmas my girlfriend (who I am obviously going to marry) bought me a Savage model 12 .204 Ruger. I loaded up 4 different loads and headed to the range in excite...
