Re: Redding Bullet Seating Micrometer #9085

For rifles that get loaded with more than one particular bullet, I have grown to love the micrometer dies. Keep good written records and changes become super-simple. I have Redding, Wilson & Wilson w/Sinclair micro-tops. They are all slightly different but, all three brands are a joy to use. Fo...

Redding Bullet Seating Micrometer #9085

Have been thinking about replacing my Redding bullet seating plug with the Redding Bullet Seating Micrometer #9085 replacement plug for a bit more control on my bullet seating. Anyone with any input as to pros or cons? Worth the extra cost...about $39 ?

Re: Another big brother

You'll end up doing everyone ya got.......grin A hint on the Web Spray. I hang the stock by wire from a sling stud and stand back a few feet. It helps to practice on an old 2x4.....One can of Web will do 3-4 stocks. It comes in silver, gold, black and white. Michaels craft stores carries it. Silver...

Re: Another big brother

It's easy. Remove barreled action, wipe down with alcohol, mask off what you don't want painted, shoot a couple coats of Krylon Fusion, shoot Krylon Webbing Spray, finish with Matte Krylon Clearcoat(dry between coats), pull masking, reinstall action. You're done..... Thanks huntsman...I may have to...

Re: COAL vs Pressures

My 204 throats are so long I couldn't touch the lands even if i wanted. I just use the SAAMI SPEC for max OAL and adjust from there. It works Jim...I think my rifle is the same, but to be on the safe side I will wait on the gauges, which should be here the first of the week.. Been around for 76 yrs...

Re: COAL vs Pressures

If you are not into the lands, you should not have a significant increase in pressure. I would suggest a OAL tool just so you know exactly what your chamber length is. For my 39 SBK load, I pushed the bullet as close to the lands, as I dared, so I have only about .120 of the bullet into the brass. ...

COAL vs Pressures

When loading the 204 and you increase the coal (not touching the lands), does this increase the pressures? I want to do a bit of testing and wanted to ask before I jump into it. At the present I am loading 26.6 gr of Benchmark behind a Sierra 32gr BK - CCI BR4 - Hornady case. With a coal of the 2.25...

I have one Bill...Haven't had a chance to fire it at long distance, but at 50 yds it prints 1/2" groups. Hopefully in a week or two I can give it a real test..

Re: Lee dies...which set?

Oldfox, have you done any reloads for your 204R Predator using the Lee dies yet? If so, are you happy with the results? I have not set it up yet Danno... I ended up getting Redding full length and Lee collet dies. Hopefully I will get setup within the next week or so...it's been a bad winter here a...

Re: Fiocchi Brass

When I first got my .204 I bought 3-400 rounds of Fiocchi ammo. I was shooting sub-.5 moa with a Howa 1500. The 32 gr shot very hot. Some signs of overpressure. The 40 gr was better for me? I am still using the brass, it's good. 3rd or 4th reload. I am using neck sizing die only. Thanks Bodei for t...
