Re: The squeaks are out
RJ, if you are East of the Cascades, never, ever, curse the mud. Nothing more precious out here than moisture. Of course, if you are on the West side, can't do anything for you except offer my condolences.

Re: The squeaks are out
IIRC, you are shooting an area that the land owner is requesting maximum reduction of numbers. I don't have a problem with that but, it is probably worth mentioning to avoid the inevitable discussion about shooting prior to the 'spawn'. That being said, glad you got out and had some (a lot) good sho...

Re: Sage Rats 2016
Starting to see a few around here. A couple of sunny days would likely bring more of them out of their burrows. We won't do much shooting until the babies are out and about since the population is at a sustainable level. Nothing like the infestations some of you lucky guys like to share pictures of!...

Re: Vihtavuori powder for 204 Ruger
Jim, I ran into the same thing working up my 35 grain Berger load using RL 10X a handful of years ago. I ended up extrapolating from 32 & 39 grain published loads that used RL10X. First loads tried were 'sensibly conservative'. I imagine the same approach would work with your Vihtavouri powder. ...

Having "several keyholed' is a bit concerning, is it not?

Brassman fixed me up. John is a great guy to do business with and it just so happened he had a few that were not listed on his website. Thank you for the lead, Darkker.

Jim, it is helpful. Expensive stuff to test, as well!

Re: CC Mentoring Needed
Rick, that is very nice. Got a real 'classy' look to it, must be the 1911 influence! Got a personal preference for 9mm defense ammunition?

Re: Winchester brass replacement
Holy cow! Thank you for setting me straight on the 'Blem Brass", Rick. I had no idea and certainly would not want to spread misinformation. Since it came up (okay, I brought it up), I was told by Nosler that the blem bullets have ONLY cosmetic issues. Do you know this to be true or not? Thanks ...

Re: Winchester brass replacement
Changing brass will almost certainly mean a change in volume of the case and also change the hardness/elasticity of the case material itself. Read that as 'a change in pressure when fired'. Changing any components, including brass, dictates reducing the load and working back up. If changing the bras...

Re: CC Mentoring Needed
Good to know on the wear items, Jim. I have limited auto loader and removable magazine experience. Even less in handgun form. At least one magazine will be kept loaded at all times. Makes sense that the spring would eventually be affected by constant compression.

WTB: New, unfired LC 223/5.56 Brass
The sporadic supply of new, unfired Lake City 223/5.56 brass has me in a pickle again. If you have some, or any leads on where to get it, please let me know.
Thank you,
Jon

Re: CC Mentoring Needed
Glad that all worked out. When the opportunity allows, grab some extra magazines and components. Specifically; followers and springs. As far as ammo, I posted the results of several brands and calibers I tested lately in this thread; http://204ruger.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11444 Jim Hmmm,...
