Re: Heard a rumor...
If loaded ammo is out there, who is making the guns? I'm guessing Cooper's got one, or at least will make one to order. How much powder and what choice of bullets will be available I wonder? Just when I thought my safe had seen its last new occupant

Heard a rumor...
about a 17 Hornet on the horizon. That sounds like a fun little round especially if they give it a nice sharp shoulder on case.

Re: 204 Ackley?
Thanks for all the replies. You basically said what I suspected, although I thought the issue would be in loosing neck length in changing the shoulder angle.

204 Ackley?
Does the 204 cartridge lend itself to being Ackley improved? I've never heard of anybody doing it, and wonder if they did- would it provide much improvement in terms of either velocity and/or accuracy?

Re: Help...204 issues
Not sure what you mean by fouling barrels. I've got a Tikka in 223cal that has launched well over a couple thousand rounds by now and still shoots as good as new. They are hard to find here in the US in 204, wish I had one. They are trusty workhorses. If you get one, you'll most certainly get years ...

Re: Help...204 issues
Methinks something is rotten in Oz(with your gun). I hear Tikka sells quite a few arms in your neck of the woods, so instead of driving yourself absolutely batpoop crazy trying to figure out what's wrong with the gun you have and flushing good money down the terlit trying this and that :wall: , cons...

Re: I've yet to meet a....
A set of Arkansas stones and a bare(smooth) steel are all I need now for razor sharp edges. I've got the Chef's Choice sharpener and a junk drawer full of gadgets that are supposed to put a super sharp edge on steel. They'll get em sharp, but none of em will make an edge like the above combo. I used...

Re: I've yet to meet a....
I know this is an older post but I wanted to add something I just figured out...a bare steel will put a razor sharp edge on all of my blades- I find with 20 or 30 swipes per side. After my in-laws came over and compromised most of my kitchen blades  , I thought I'd give them a quick servicing o...

What would happen, just wondering?
What would happen if you ground up your powder into a fine dust? I'm not going to do it, I know it could be a major disaster. But would it make it shoot faster, slower? Has it been tried?
Re: CZ rings
Haven't had a chance to mount the rings yet as I've been gone. Hope to get my scope mounted this week and take the gun out for a test run over the weekend. I'll be scoping it with a Weaver Grand Slam 6-20x40OA with a fine cross/dot. I'd like to get things ready Wed. but my espoused guilt instiller h...
CZ rings
Do all of your CZ rifles come with rings? My 204 didn't. I just took possession of a new 221 fireball and it came with a set of rings. Since I wasn't expecting rings, I bought a set of Burris'. Now I have an extra set of rings for a 527, so if anybody is in need, I'd be willing to make a trade. Addi...

Re: How much do you pay?
When I went to sign the paper work and look at the gun, it turns out it had rings with it. The last CZ two CZ's I bought did not have any. Has somebody been helping themselves to my rings? Now I have an extra pair as I bought a pair of Burris'. Anybody looking for a pair of CZ rings?

Re: holding a group at range
FWIW-my last trip to the range resulted in mediocre groups for my 204-1" to 1.5"@ 200yds. The only things that were different were that the brass was brand new and the temp was significantly lower than I have been shooting. I attribute my biggest problem to the necks not being very concent...
