Re: Ruger Hawkeye or CZ 527 American.
Those fibergrain stocks are as rare as hens teeth, Rick. They haven't made them for several years, if my memory isn't off too much, but they do offer a similar look in a brown/ black swirl pattern that look 'wood" at 20'. I don't recall the color combo they offer that looks wood-ish, but from w...

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!
Thanks Bill
I'll keep the ratty wood stock, but if I didn't send them the 17 I haven't used in a years time of owning it, I WAS going to buy a New Phoenix 20vt.
Yes, Rick has, for sure, saved me a bunch in my learning period.
Thanks both

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!
Ok do spoke to Shirley, super nice lady, and will be sending the rifle back. While there I'm having them install a OD Green Phoenix stock with black webbing. Figured if I'm going to send them the rifle might as well have them fit a Phoenix stock to it. So hopefully I'll have a nice Phoenix stocked ...

WTB-New 22 hornet brass
I am in need of some new, hopefully winchester, 22 hornet brass to reform to 17 Ackley hornet. My chamber will not allow the once fired brass I have to fit , even after FL resizing. The base needs to be 0.2940 or less, 0.2945 will not fit the chamber. Hoping for 500 or 1k new brass, and have bullets...

Re: Ruger 77/17 Hornet
Keep em coming I just located 40 boxes of ammo and scooped it up yesterday, have a CZ 527 in Ah I picked up Monday and I am supposed to get the next batch of CZ's, I ordered a Varmint as my CZ Ackley is a light contour stainless rifle. A Buckmaster 6-18 is mounted, and the HH will get a 30mm Vortex ...

Re: Do you live in Kalifornia and own a gun? Listen up!
Hopefully if they do pass it, which they probably have the votes to do, a Judge will do the same as was done to the attempt to ban mail order sales of ammo they tried last year. I would go from having a Government Q clearance to being a felon in one day. Stupid baztards. Curious why the hollow point...

Re: Re-barreled my 700
Looks good. What kind of Lathe do you have, and was it a short chambered barrel or did you cut the threads and chamber it? I'll be 15 miles north of you Monday night thru Thursday afternoon, too much snow, and work, to stay in Victor like I do if I have time to visit the Antique store on 332.... Loo...

Re: Another Pawn Shop Treasure
Looks good Rick. A twin to the CZ 221 FB I picked up from Nosler's "auction" site a couple of years ago. Mine had a test target barely sub 1" for 3 shots, and after reading how everyone else's came with a ragged hole target and shot well, I decided to pillar and glass bed mine. I thin...

Re: Ruger 77/17 Hornet
Thanks. Good news is, using the new hornet brass I have the bolt closes and tightens up the front of the bolt, adding 1 layer of masking tape to the case head the bolt won't close, so the bolt slop is minimal and I believe that indicates no need to shim this one. I have one each 22 k hornet and a 17...

Re: Ruger 77/17 Hornet
Nice post Don I picked up a 77-22 Hornet from a friend 2 days ago, one of the early guns. If I get some time today I'll get a few rounds fired to see if it's a keeper or sell it, hate the trigger. What trigger and what weight did it end up at, and are you now shooting reloads or still factory? I rea...
