Re: What bullets do you all like for coyotes

I agree about the 175 SMK, but really raises the pressures in the 204!! :) The only bullets I've never had a splash with, is the 34gr Varmint Nightmare from Midsouth. No where to sell the Hide's around here anymore, so don't do a ton of inspection. Not sure if they are pass throughs, but never found...

Re: 39gr Sierra BK and BL-C2 (AR15)

Have a few ideas for you. I agree on the reassembly, AR's certainly can be a loveless bride, when things aren't just so. Next is the bullet. I've had, and known guns that just do not shoot those longer bullets well. Current one will, can't say why, other than the actual twist Vs. Stated argument. La...

Re: Recommend me a tumbler!

Been perfectly happy with the Frankford unit I've had for many moons. Personally I don't have the obsession to compulsively clean my brass, so I can't get into the stainless/ultra-sonic business.

Re: Benchmark8208, neck tension, col

Increased neck tension won't matter to a tangible extent on velocity, the brass simply can't hold that tightly on the bullet. What it affects is start Pressure and keeping the bullet aligned to the Bore, prior to engaging the rifling. Remember that barrels are a harmonic system, so any change to tim...

Re: Winchester brass

Ramos, Can't fault that reasoning at all. My greater point to my ramblings was simply the old story of "what's in a name?!" Too many folks get caught-up in old stories of Brand X's quality, when that company may not have actually "made" anything in a long time. There are a couple...

Nosler brass is Norma brass.
When they bought Silver State Armory, my assumption was in part for the case mfg capacity. But as of yet, I have not been able to confirm they are building any centerfire cases yet.

Re: Winchester brass

Winchester or more correctly said, Olin, sold their cartridge case business about a decade ago. They have had it built by whomever bids lowest price, ever since the sale. I don't believe Nosler is using the Silver State Armory facility to actually make their own brass yet. Unless that has changed ve...

With a Savage, lord knows their QC isn't helping you Wes.
The Ruger Hawkeye predators never hiccup with them.

Re: Looking for a .30 caliber

The 308 has A LOT going for it in terms of economy and availability. I personally shoot mine to a mile. The 175 SMK has literal mountains of army testing showing it to survive trans-sonic crossings; of which could be fired in any other 30-cal. Many other bullets, particularly from a particular compa...

Re: What rifle?

Judging by RPM limits, the two toughest jacket designs are Nosler/Sierra.

Until you reload, personally I love Varmint Nightmares at a slower pace.

Re: 204 Midsouth 34grn

Seating bullets deeper (more jump to the lands) will lower your pressure; unless you get rediculouly deep.

Re: h4895 high pressure issues...?

Uncalibrated primers don't tell you anything, don't read too much into them. If you want a definitive answer, skip over to RSI and buy a Pressure Trace system. Do a quick chamber cast, and you will KNOW what is happening. You get to see things like this: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j84/Darkker...

Re: 204 5 Shot Aics Mag

I'm curious as well, never had any AR mag that needed anything changed to make the 204 feed. Likewise no bolt action follower needing altered.

Re: Ruger 204 predator series ammo

Hello guys. .. I have a a 204 Ruger predator series. I was wondering if I can shoot this ammo out of it?http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/mobile/product/16679/sierra_blitzking_spitzer_204_cal_39_grain_100box That link doesn't show ammo, it shows bullets. You need to buy a few different reloading m...
