Re: *** 2015 Ruger 204um Five Shot Challenge ***

I signed up early, hope that is OK. If I don't do it now, I won't remember to do it at all. I doubt I will win, but it would be interesting to see how I stack up to other production class shooters.

Re: 6BR build

Best place to get a savage action is find a used gun at a pawn shop, gun show, or local gun classifieds. Take off the barrel and stock and sell them on ebay and end up around $200-$300 for your action. You can buy new ones from northland shooters supply and I've seen a few here and there, but they a...

Re: 6BR build

Its definitely a caliber on my short list. Wonder how the smaller bullets would do on the 8-twist? I'd like to shoot the whole range of sizes. I built a 6x45 (6mm 223 Rem) with an 8 twist. I can shoot 55 to 105 (haven't tried anything bigger) and even with a lower velocity have no problems stabiliz...

Anybody ever hunted pdogs near Rapid City, SD?

I regularly hunt prairie dogs several times a year in wyoming, but am headed to Rapid City for work at end of May and will be doing some prairie dog shooting during the evenings. Not interested in guides or hunting on the reservation, just looking for some public or non guided private land opportuni...

FS Leupold Golden Ring 8x32 Binoculars

I have a nice pair of Leupold Golden Ring 8x32 Binoculars. They have been used for the last several years on a handful of hunts. They have excellent optics and are lightweight 26oz and have a huge field of view of 420' at 1000 yards which is what I like the most about the binoculars. The binoculars ...

FS Like New Leica CRF 1200 Rangefinder

I have a like new Leica CRF 1200 rangefinder for sale, not a mark or scratch on the unit including the lenses. I bought this and took it on 2 antelope hunts in WY which both took about an hour. I was getting ranges on antelope at 700 yards (didn't try any further). Hillsides at 1350 yards and some p...

Hexagonal Boron Nitride, it is a bullet coating. It can be removed if you don't want it.

Re: Leupold vs Nightforce

I would buy the Nightforce hand down. Better glass, better turrets, zero stop... I've got several leupold VX3 and a VX6, several sightron SIII and a Nightforce. Best scope is the Nightforce in all aspects, the sightron is the best scope for the money, the leupolds are comparable to the sightron glas...

Re: Seating depth/jump?

I have a Cooper and a friend just got a Remington, both in 204 Ruger. Both have L O N G throats and this is the first time we have owned a 204 Ruger. My question is at what seating depth are you loading either gun? It seems that to keep the bullets (32 Grain V-Max and 32 Grain Z-Max bullets) seated...

Re: 39g Sierra's or 35g Berger ???

Recently I have done some extensive testing on these two projectiles and the Berger is definitely the harder projectile. It needs a heavier target to fully open up where the SBK needs very little resistance to detonate. Agreed, I've shot both at prairie dogs and the 39sbk fragments completely with ...

WTB Savage Accutrigger Center Blade Part

I just acquired a savage 14 that has had the center blade of the accutrigger removed (also called accu release). Was planning on using this as a ultralight hunting gun and would like to put the part back in for added safety. Anybody have one laying around? Would also love the little spring that atta...
