Re: 39 grain Sierra Blitzkings and groundhogs

I shot a big coyote and a racoon in the face\ head area and the bullet blew up and did'nt kill them. I had to shoot the coon again in the ribs and the coyote got away. They were both snap shots at moveing animals, so not really where I wanted to hit them. But it's a little to lightly construct...

Does anybody use the nosler 55 gr BT ?

I have been helping a buddy work on his new AR-15 in 223 project rifle and he asked me what kind of bullet to use for coyotes. I told him probably a good poly tip like the Nosler 55 gr BT or V-max. But I guess some guys don't like those because they won't penetrate through heavy shoulder bones, I do...

AR-15 twist rates

Me and buddy recently picked up a couple AR style rifles for varmint/predator hunting and was curious about what bullet weights would fly the best for the rifleing twist we have. My buddy got LUCKY and found a R-15 in 223 with a 24" varmint barrel and I found a S&W mp15pc in 223 nato with a...

resize brass from other gun

I got about 300 rounds of neck sized only brass that I pulled the bullets out of and was thinking of reloading them for another rifle. Seeing how primers are so hard to get, is there any way I can resize the cases without seting off the primers or ruining them ?

270 or 308 is better ?

Hey guys, I know this is probably stupid, but a buddy of mine says that the 308 win is just as good or better than a 270 win. I says he's wrong (because I'm partial to the 270). I think they both have their good advantages over the other, but he does'nt. :chin: What are some common opinions out ther...

Rick, point well taken. Never thought of it that way. This is why I love this forum, it keeps us all (me), on the right track. Thanks again.

Re: Neck sizing only

The way I think to extend the life of the brass if I'm not wrong, is to full lenth your brass when it's new. Then use a Lee collet neck sizer die to size the neck only, and then after a few more loadings like that according to the brittleness and make of brass you're useing, anneal the neck to sofen...

Good enough hog hunting gun ?

Howdy fellas, Question about good hog hunting calibers. A couple buddies of mine went hog hunting in Georgia and Tennesee last winter and have been trying to get me to go with them next year. And they may have me convinced to go. But I was wondering if I need a better gun. I have a 270 that shoots 1...

Re: cci br-4's ?

Hey guys, I was just wondering, I could'nt get anymore of those BR-4's last night, the guy was sold out, but he had quite a few CCI 450 magnums left. Just from checking out the site here this morning it looks like that if you use a harder to ignite powder like 748, or BLc-2 that you might get pretty...

Re: cci br-4's ?

I got to looking in my buddys Sierra reloading manual and they reccomend Fed 205M primers with a max load of RE-10x (of 25 gr.), which is the powder I'm useing. Should I try to find some of those ? I might not be able to get anymore BR-4's, but the place where I got them had alot of CCI 450's. Will ...

cci br-4's ?

Hi fellas, I always used Winchester small rifle primers in my 204 because that's all my local gunshop carried and they seem to work good. I don't know much about primers and when I ran low I went to the local gun shop and could'nt find my WSR's. All I could find were CCI BR-4's and CCI 450's. I did'...
