Re: Finally finished - my new custom 204 - UPDATED

Thanks Silverfox, bullfrog and Lee .....it worked out most excellent, new post under 204 Varmint Hunting. I don't shoot much paper, but the results in the field say the new rig shoots great. I'll have to put it on paper again now that the barrel is broken-in (on Skippy, that is) and see just how acc...

Re: Ordering a Barrel From PAC-NOR.

kirby: Some 12 twist 204 barrels shoot the 40's just fine, others refuse to shoot them well. I just put a Pac-Nor stainless Super Match 11 twist barrel on a M700 action, and it shoots the 39gr Blitz King extremley well. As for shipping one up there, I'd just go to the Canadian Customs website and c...

hozz: Nice work there buddy on that cradle! Great lookin' grandson too, I can't wait till mine is old enough to go afield with me, bet you feel the same way.

The time away from your rifles and the board were very well spent, I'd say. :D

Re: Rifle Basix Triggers ?

Maj: I've got both in various rifles, used a Rifle Basix in my Ruger M77 220 Swift, and it is a vast improvement. No installation problems, and it's now a very sweet trigger.

MY NEW CUSTOM 204 MEETS SKIPPY! (Pics)

My crew and I just returned from a 4-day Skippy affair. Not the best of conditions, but any time away from work is a good time, and even better if it involves rifles and live targets. ;) I took my new custom Model 700 204 Ruger with the match chamber discussed elsewhere, along with my Sako Model 75 ...

Re: Early Season Fun w/Skippy (Pics)

maj: There is a pic of my new 204 posted, look at the post titled "Finally Finished....." under the heading 204 Ruger part of the forum. I know what you mean about having the hots to go too. We leave in the morning, right now my garage looks like a Spec Ops staging area, and the excitemen...

Re: Early Season Fun w/Skippy (Pics)

maj: Can't say for sure, but we know this about our sage rats: * They like warm weather * They like sunshine * They hate wind * They hate cold These guys will be out when it's somewhat cold if no wind. If the wind comes up, they bail. I've seen them up when windy, but it was nice and warm, so there...

Re: Finally finished - my new custom 204 - UPDATED

Rambler: I'm not jamming into the lands on the new M700 204. The target above was shot with loads developed for my Sako 204 that are loaded long. When fired in the new Match chamber, they were jammed into the lands because of the short throating of the new chamber. This will not be the case with al...

Re: Lee AutoPrime Shellholder Problems..

Nodak: If price is not a huge issue, and you want the very best hand priming tool on the planet, consider the Sinclair unit. I used the little Lee unit for many years, and for the money it's a dandy unit. The Sinclair tool is all stainless steel, fully adustable for stroke, uses the Lee shellholder...

Re: Finally finished - my new custom 204 - UPDATED

Been busy for the last few days, but wow , you guys flatter me with all the comments pertaining to my new rig. Thanks for all the interest and encouragement. I've got the barrel about 85% broken-in (Sinclair/Pac-Nor Method), having fired only 35 shots total so far. 30 of these shots were with Reming...

WP: Nick indeed! But you did make me go back up to that pic to check it out....... Glenn: Heck there buddy, by mid-June she'll be all broke in, will be down in N. Kalifornia for our Annual Rat Rodeo, and by then probably have at least 400 or 500 rounds down range....she'll be all broken in ...

Re: Finally finished - my new custom 204

scooter: Our season is done by July, so black in the sun is not an issue for me. Our ground rats are about done by the end of June; our last blast is our Annual Rat Rodeo down in N. Kalif in mid-June, then it's clean the rifles, work on them, or put them to bed until fall/predators. Thanks for the ...
