Re: Morning coyote

Nice, the 218 Bee has accounted for a lot of game over the years, a lot of it larger than that caliber should ever have been used on. My great uncle tells stories of some relation back in the old days shooting deer and antelope with it to feed his family, it was the only rifle he owned so I guess it...

Re: XDM 40 Cal

Agreed, you can never have enough practice, and I am certain there would be a million thoughts go through ones mind in that split second before drawing your weapon. That is when the muscle memory from many many rounds takes over I'm sure. Beautiful weapon you have there RIO. I'm sure sidearms are as...

XDM 40 Cal

Well I finally pulled the trigger and brought home a side arm. I have been pondering it for some time now but as of late it has been getting higher on the list as the hours roll by. This is a crazy world and I want to be ready when the need arises. A civic duty is not one that needs to be taken ligh...

Re: big prairie dog

Is that a 416/204 S/S in your hands! Wow, you must have ran into one of those that are hybred with chupacabra.

Re: .338 Lapua vs. Jackal

Nice work on the jackal, not much left of him it appears. As they say you can never be over gunned. I bet that thing has a little recoil with the lack of weight is appears to have.

Re: My day finally came

Nice work bow shot...

Don't it seem like some much more of a feat when you have to work for it several times! I know it sure does for me, however the easy ones are nice also. Nice work on 3 for 3, great looking piece. So what is your next one going to be chambered in?

Re: Which stock for varmint hunting?

I bought one off of Amazon for just over $100 for my lastest assembly. Appears to be of really good quality and very solid.

Re: I was bored!

On Saturday as I was setting in the cab of a locomotive by my office I seen what appeared to be a vechicle that about slipped into the drink (old sandpit next to a corn field). As I was watching to see if there was anyone in the vechicle I caught something out of the corner of my eye. A coyote was t...

Re: Which stock for varmint hunting?

I to have the standard on my AR, I did have to add a spacer block to the flat top to get the scope height right for me, a lot of people don't seem to need this though. I am building a second one and have purchased an adjustable (length of pull, not height adjustable) buttstock for it. I don't have i...

I was bored!

Yesterday I was bored at work so I decided to leave early, the weather was perfect out side with very little wind and mostly sunny. So off to one of my dog towns I go. I pull up in an inconspicious spot, grab an AR and head to some cover. As I approach the hide I notice the weeds have grown about 4 ...

Re: CO prairie dog trip

We were using a gas burning stove, not very big but it did pretty good. It got fairly cold but not really bad, one with more BTU's would have been a little nicer. First few nights there were 2 of us in it, then part of the camp left so we gained one more. He came with one of those 3' high queen size...

Re-spawn, ha.... Well, since the little burgers drag the dead back down and naw on em, I guess it's about the same thing. Your right, it's always time for new blood footage.

Re: CO prairie dog trip

Mike, your idea of a 'rat rodeo' for pdogs is something I have thougt about in the past. If enough land could be rounded up and dates figured out, man oh man would that be a great thing to meat and greet and have a grand old time. Here was my pyramid (cowboy teepee) at our WY elk camp in 07. http://...

Re: CO prairie dog trip

Now that's what would be considered a money making venture there. Swap a nice bench for a nasty little creature that I don't even have to pay the taxes on his feed bill! I had to stop on the road to let two of them stop fighting when I was leaving work this evening. Normally wouldn't have stopped bu...

Re: AR 15 and clean burn

Bill, I too was wanting to buy in the 204R configuration but then I waked into the gun dealer one day and liked the way the 223 he had on hand felt and looked (DPMS). He told me he would give me an even better deal if I bought it that day. Pondered it for a few hours and went back and bought it. Bee...
