Re: 32 gr. Nosler Varmageddon

28.5 gr. BLC(2). Shot a .169 three shot group. It's deadly on badgers, very small entrance no exit, DRT. Turns other varmints inside out. Haven't got a chance to shoot a coyote with it.

Re: Opinion on first .204.

I have a Ruger American in .223. It's not a heavy barrel, super accurate and zero problems. I don't like the factory trigger so I put a Timney on it. I would definately recommend it. My .204 is a Rem. 700 SPS, sporter weight barrel and have absolutely no problems with it either. It is super accurate...

Re: Coyotes

Good job. I'm going to try to get out in a few days and see if I can scare one up. Gotta shoot doves tomorrow.

Re: Coyotes

At least you're getting out and shooting a few. They're still out there but it seems like you have to work harder to get them. There's so many people here calling and shooting them that I think they've become a lot more nocturnal. They're pretty suspicious of a rabbit distress in day light.

Once again !

Went out in the hills again this morning. My buddy got another badger, his 6th this year, 10 between us. It was a male, 15 lbs. 9 oz. Got it at about 8:15 a.m. at 111 yds. Starting to get a little stink on him, it's breeding season. I saw another one but it was running when I P1070332.JPG P1070330.J...

Re: Central idaho Squirrels

Yeah, neither one of us gave a thought to it being the week end of July fourth until ewe got there and ran into the hoards. On the way home the Payette River was loaded with rafters and there was a steady stream of vehicles headed north.

Central idaho Squirrels

We went up in the higher country yesterday to shoot Columbian ground squirrels. Were just above 6800' elevation. We didn't see as many as we hoped but enough to have some fun. There was a lot of traffic up and down the roads and just about every little wide spot big enough had a camper two in it. Th...

Re: squirrels in Cedarville

Glad to see somebody is still getting some good ground squirrel shooting. Here in so. west Idaho they have gone down for this year. We won't be seeing them until late Jan. or early Feb. Those are some big squirrels, quite a bit bigger than the squirrels here. Ours are the Piute squirrels, known loca...

Went a badgering

The badgers in this area are just starting to breed and get more active. So, my shooting/hunting buddy and I decide to go look for some. We left home about 5 a.m. got out in the fields a little after 6 a.m. It was really nice weather cool, no wind, good day for badgers to die. Gary wound up getting ...

Re: Problem

Yep. I had some 6m/m Rem. cases awhile back that I had to bump the shoulder back on. I think the first cartridge I loaded for was .270 Win. that one of the older guys had and then 22/250 that the other one had.

Re: Problem

I always neck size if they are cases that have been fired in my guns. New cases or cases I get somewhere else, I always full length size the first time. I started hand loiading on myn own in about 1968. Before that a couple of older guys I knew showed me how to reload and explained about die setup. ...
