Re: Group Size

My out of the box model 12 shoots 5 shot groups at around 1 inch using factory Remington 32 grain ammo. I'd be ecstatic if I was shooting .3" groups! I haven't had a chance to try other factory ammo to see if it likes anything else better. When the temperatures falls a bit I'll go back out to t...

Re: 39 grain Sierra Blitzkings and groundhogs

I shot a big coyote and a racoon in the face\ head area and the bullet blew up and did'nt kill them. I had to shoot the coon again in the ribs and the coyote got away. They were both snap shots at moveing animals, so not really where I wanted to hit them. But it's a little to lightly construc...

Re: Coated bullet shooters: Question :?:

If you haven't already - give all of your brass a light inside chamfer. It will help eliminate the hard edge scraping off the coating.

Re: Now I'm officially a .204 member -

I believe the rifle was billed as a 4+1, which I took to mean that the magazine held 4 rounds + one in the chamber, but I was able to load 5 rounds in the magazine easily. Of all the rifles I own, this has become my favorite - it is extremely well built - a bit on the heavy side, so I don't see myse...

Now I'm officially a .204 member -

Picked up my Savage Model 12 in .204 yesterday and wasted no time in setting the scope and bore sighting it. I've been using Vortex binoculars now for about a year and really like them, so I thought I'd give the Vortex Viper scope a try - it's the 6.5 - 20 x 44 with the BDC reticle sitting on top of...

Re: Remmington 40 GR accu tips

LOL - No, they don't suck. It's just that 40 grains is on the upper edge of stability using a .204 1 in 12 twist barrel, some rifles shoot them fine, others don't like them at all - even identical rifles from the same manufacturer are hit and miss. Trying to work up loads for your own particular rif...
