Re: 204 vrs 223
I use the 223 and 204 both for paper, plinking and varmint hunting. I have used the 223 on a couple of deer, as my state allows any centerfire ( I think the 204 is a little on the light side, bullet wise for them) but I usually use either a 25-06, 30-06 or 30-30 for deer and larger. The more I think...

204 vrs 223
I have both a 204 and 223 in 23in for my TC Contender and like both. However looking at a bolt rifle in one and can not decide which to go with. I kind of favor the 223 for the use of heavier bullets, at times, even tho I shoot mostly 32- 39 gr Dogtown and SBK's in both with good results. What are s...

Re: AR Jewel Trigger troubleshoot
Not sure about the Jewel trigger set up, but on most others if you try and set the adjustment to light, then it can strike and block out the safety. Try setting it as light as you can, with the safety still functioning, loc tite all adjusting screws/nuts and see if it does not stop the creep, you se...

Re: New to .204
I have had no problem with either Dogtown or Varmint extreme bullets in 32-55 gr. Depending on what they are being shot in, from my 204, 223 or 22-250. I seem to favor the 34 and 55 gr in my rifles. Bill K

Re: Bullet stability
My Wild A$$ Guess would be they're not so much wobbling. Merely flying out the barrel tips up and eventually straightening out. I now and always retain the right to be totally wrong. ;) Odd either way. Maybe I'll try blasting some into the snowbanks in my driveway. Trigger finger sure is getting it...

Re: problems reloading with once fired brass
Rick makes some very good points. So far, however, I also live in a rural area that seems to thus far still like their Law-enforcement officers. For duty, we always carried factory ammo, for many reasons, some of which are the court cases that support factory ammo over Reload. But for personal use I...

Re: problems reloading with once fired brass
On any HDR (Homeland defense rifle) rather than AR (which our politicians like to call Assualt rifles, rather than the Amalite rifle it was meant to be. You may well get alongwith a standard die touching the ram, but then again if that does not do it you need the small base die. Also remember is you...

Re: problems reloading with once fired brass
Think the advise of getting a small base set of dies for your reloading of cases going into a semi-auto (HDR - Homeland defense rifle) is what you need. A standard set if fine or single shot and bolt guns, but not HDR's. They need sized fully. That will end your problems, RCBS and others have such s...

Re: large cal. rifles
Just to throw another fine cartridge into the pot, for you.. For varmints and general shooting a good 100-115 bullet is fine. Move up to a Nosler 120 Gr partition and the cartridge will serve you well on Elk and moose. Have used one for about 25 years now and have never been sorry. This fine cartrid...

Re: outside neck deburr tool?
http://www.lymanproducts.com/lyman/case-prep/outside-chamfer-tool.php I use one of these to lightly chamfer the outside.A socket stuffed with 4 O steel wool turned by hand or power gives a nice finish without removing too much brass. I use the RCBS tool, that chamfers inside and out, and it works v...

Re: Superperformance powder
I also bought Hornadys New Book and was upset that so little information was in it for SuperPerformance. From the advertised info that I had seen earlier about the info that is has on this powder I was led to believe that it would be useful. False advertising and I do believe I will be calling Horn...

Re: Interesting Knox Report about ATF, and Mexico.
Just another corrupt Washington D.C. agency. But with the likes of Obama, Holder, Bloomberg running around for gun control (look at Bloomberg calling for tougher handgun laws, due to the police shooting in a police station, when the weapon was a shotgun. Shows what they are after and their mentality...

Re: 34 Grain Dogtown Bullets
I have began playing with both the Dogtown(MidwayUSA) and Varmint Nightmare(Midsouth). Both have been working well, able to work up accurate loads and they do indeed do major damage to ground squirrels and jackrabbits. Only one coyote, so far, but it did put it down. Shooting them in a .223, 22-250 ...

Re: Reloading
I made the switch to 7.5 over the 6.5 when I started shooting a 17/223 due to the higher pressure and primers piercing. I would just make the move and stick with the 7.5 in all the hotter cartridges i.e 223, 204, etc and not worry about having a problem. Just work up your loads with them and have fu...
