Re: WTB - magazine for Remington (DPMS) 30 RAR

Trent, I'll try a PMag tonight. Never thought to try that. Thanks for the idea! Yep, it's a nice caliber. The kids can hunt with it, with some front-end support. I've taken two whitetail bucks with mine. If you can ever find them, try some Hornady 110 gr VMaxs and H4198. Mine will cloverleaf them at...

WTB - magazine for Remington (DPMS) 30 RAR

Looking for a magazine for a Remington 30 RAR. Any capacity is fine.

Thanks,
Brian

Re: What size patches for .204

Used a bronze brush on a "clean" .243 tonight. Patches were filthy! Guess my rifles aren't as clean as I thought they were. Time to add more bronze to my cleaning supplies...

Re: Help please the 35 grain Berger or 39 grain Sierra

JKNoel, I think you stunned a few of us, myself included, by jumping straight to 1000 rounds without knowing how they shoot in your rifle. I personally started with 100 ct boxes of bullets and after I found combinations that worked best, I stocked up on those components. Yes, the Berger 35's are &qu...

Re: New to forum and a new cooper 204R

Welcome to the forum! Like those Coopers do you? I finally brought one home, an M21 in 20 VT. Can't help you with Cooper-specific data but there are a lot of loads in the "Favorite Loads" sticky post in the reloading section. Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: Another Pawn Shop Treasure

That's quite a nice find indeed! Sounds like it's going to a good home. All we have in the pawn shops here are stolen power tools, beat up guitars, and Glocks that have never had a patch or brush through them. Enjoy your new treasure. Does she have a name yet?

Re: What size patches for .204

Rick, are you using bronze with other solvents? I've destroyed bronze brushes by using them with ammonia-based cooper solvents. I figured that if the solvent is eating the brush, then copper is getting deposited back in the grooves. I start with Shooters Choice and patches, then bronze brush with Sh...

Re: What size patches for .204

Redfox, you must have been reading my mind. I was packing supplies last night for a trip to the range today. All of my cleaning stuff (except rods) is in a Husky toolbox . Keeps it nice and organized but I never need EVERYTHING that's in it. I was thinking it would be nice to be able to just grab a ...

Don't you mean UNDERwhelming? :) The places I haunt don't carry much in the way of VV powder. Always been curious to try it though.

Re: 1:10 twist for .204 help

My TC 204 is a 1:10. It liked the 39 SBK's immediately. The 32 SBK took a little bit of time. Hated Hornady factory ammo. Finally found loads for 32 and 40 VMax as well as 32 Nos BT. Haven't gotten my hands on 40 Nos BT, but they're on the way. Can't really speak to explosive as it's only been on on...

Re: Electronic ear muffs

I bought two pair of the Caldwells a while back when they were on sale at Midway. They didn't last very long. Volume controls became very difficult to turn on/off. Returned them and got Howard Leight's instead. They've been great. I use foam plugs in addition to the muffs when shooting big calibers ...

Re: Not a .204, but it's still a Terrific Twenty!

Dang it, RIO! I thought I had the only one they made. :( Thanks for all of your help! I have a pound each of RL-7 and 4198. I think I can scrape up enough 32-grainers to give it a proper break-in. Have to send the scope in for turrets, get a 30MM Vortex anti-cant, and some scope covers and it'll be ...

Re: Good hand load for a 243 Win

Darkker is 100% right - don't trust someone else's load. Get a safe starting load and work up from there. That being said, in MY TC Icon PH .243, I use 70 gr Nosler BT's and 41.6 grs of Varget. I also load 87 gr Hornady V-Max's with 44.3 grs of IMR 4831. Both loads use CCI 200 primers. Back off at l...

Not a .204, but it's still a Terrific Twenty!

Latest addition to the safe - Cooper M21 Varminter 20 VarTarg. Only managed to get 7 rounds through it today. Had other priorities (kids wanting to shoot) so break-in and fire-forming will have to wait. Kind of tough to shoot and clean a lot in my present condition anyway. http://home.insightbb.com/...
