Re: Which gun oil?
I run a wet patch of Hoppe's Benchrest in mine before I store them. I use a boresnake with the brush removed to remove the solvent before I shoot again. I do this for stainless as well.

[quote="Yesterday I picked up a CZ 527 American in 221FB that has a drop-dead gorgous piece of walnut from a local pawn shop...[/quote] Nice find! Is this a daily ritual? :) There are a few pawn shops close by but they seem to have nothing but .22 LR semis, AR's that look shot-to-death, and the...

Re: Ideas for Ruger M77 Mark II .243?
Thanks Rick. I found another article last night about using an M77 action as a project build and there wasn't a lot of support for it. Local gun shop is having their annual pig roast sale soon, I'll look for a donor project then. Maybe I'll see if this little rifle will shoot 62 gr varmint grenades....

Ideas for Ruger M77 Mark II .243?
I know this is already a nice little coyote gun, but it never gets shot. It just stands in the back of the safe in the dark. I'd like to rebarrel it into a .20 cal, preferably .20 VarTarg. I'd like to keep the same basic dimensions, 16" or 18" barrel. Is this practical? I know the bolt fac...

Guess what I found in Alaska?
So, my buddy and I walk into a shop in Anchorage looking for one more piece of gear (good windproof/waterproof outer layer for me) for our caribou hunt. I found what I was looking for and was just browsing around while my buddy was getting his tags. Lo and behold on the brass shelf was 4 bags of Win...

Need to clean out the disk on the camcorder too. A few more boxes from Amazon and Cabela's and we're all set!

One more month!
One month from today we leave for Alaska to hunt caribou. I'm pumped! Hopefully I'll be posting a few good stories and pictures the middle of September.

Re: O.T.: CO Movie Shooting
Carrying in a "no weapons" location usually isn't a big deal. As long as you're not printing or no one sees the weapon,no one will even know. If the owner confronts you then you have a polite discussion with them about how BG's love places were they're the only ones with weapons. If you're...

Re: South Dakota PD Safari
JoeO, looks like you had a great time in my home state. That's a long time to be away from home but from the report you kept busy and entertained. Not much there to block the wind once it starts to blow. I took my .204, .223 AR, and a .243 early last fall. Wind was terrible but that's to be expected...

IANCXX, are you making a dent in the bunny population? What kind of distance are you shooting? Chance we can see a video?

Re: Powder measure help
RCBS Uniflow with the micrometer, 5-0-5 scale, and a .300 Win Mag case. The micrometer is nice because I load for a bunch of different powders and firearms and you can easily get back in the ballpark after a switch. After I fill the Uniflow and get the mic setting to what I last used for the require...

Re: My bolt won't close!
I had a friend look at it and he thinks my seater die is down to far that I need to back it off a bit. Says it looks like I "crushed" the case a bit, causing a little ripple around the neck? Does this make sense? That does make sense. If the body of the seating die is set too low, you'll ...
