Re: AR Shooters

On this same line, I read somewhere no longer than yesterday that some European outfit bought up some heavy hitting US ammo manufacturers. Here is the link: https://www.bicycleretailer.com/industry-news/2023/10/16/vista-outdoors-sells-ammunition-business-191-billion-deal#:~:text=(BRAIN)%20%E2%80%94%...

Re: Remington 700 204 Ruger

Half the rifles in my safe were purchased used, some to rebarrel, some were good to go as-is. You just have to know the in's and out's, what to ask, what to avoid. If you deal with forum members, it makes it easier to make a perfect transaction for both parties. If you know your way around a rifle,...

Re: The cost of powder

I got a couple of lbs of 223 CFE I've never tried. H4895 & RL15 shoot groups as tight as I can hold them.

Re: Politics and tough gun control

I noticed on Friday Judge Benitz once again, ruled California's magazine capacity ban unconstitutional [the second time he has done so]. The first time it was reversed by the full 9th circuit ultimately. This is a good restart of the process but to me it is just a delay tactic. Since the 9th circuit...

Re: The cost of powder

I was in a store the other day and most of the powder was $35 give or take but the Benchmark was $60. I scratched my head and I'm curious why it was so much more.

Re: 405 yard cow elk with 30-06

Guy - thanks for the reply. I became aware of the Barnes bullet line several years back when I when I got a 300 WBY MAG rifle with a very good friend of mine. Along with it, came 100 rounds of loaded ammunition stuffed with a 165/168 gr TTSX bullet. At 200 yards with a cold barrel it shoots 3-shot g...

Re: What is a Small Caliber

Rick...absolutely. I don't disagree at all and should have been more clear. When I think of 22 CF cartridges my first image is the ole' 223 Remington and a fine and fun cartridge it is. I've actually thought of procuring one of those larger capacity 22 CF cartridges but just never got around to it b...

I too think of 224 down to 17 cal but, there are some big 224 calibers out there these days.

Re: Federal court ruling

I agree with the outlooks posted herein. When Biden threw his hat in the ring in 2020 I had a hunch we were all about to suffer the cook-touch [everything he touches turns to dung] he-is so good at because Biden has been an anti-gun politician for as long as I can remember, and he's not done yet if ...

Re: 405 yard cow elk with 30-06

I noticed you mentioned you used a Hornady ELD-X bullet. What's your thoughts on the solid sopper bullets such as Barnes Triple Shock and other like them? I've never tried the ELD-X but it sure looks like it did a number on the elk you bagged.

Thanks,

Re: 2023, 204's and RATS!

Bill...your place looks much better without all of that snow. Sure, snow makes for nice pictures and all but it has it downsides and especially when there is that much of it. I'm looking FWD to your rat reports that I presume will be coming along in good time. Rick...as usual, you put on a good acco...

Rick...I just checked and they have some 32 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip pills available too. They had others too including 224 pills but most were above 50 grains.

Re: 2023, 204's and RATS!

Rick...this trip certainly looks better than last years outing. It looks like you folks found the whole herd of rats, after all they had an extra year to grow. Bill...my goodness, thats a lot of snow. I sure hope it melts slowly as not to cause any more problems than it has already. I read the other...
