Kimber Solo
Does anyone have any good insider info on the new Kimber Solo? I'm looking for a nice carry gun and it doesn't get much better than a Kimber. Thanks!

Re: 6.5x47 Lapua build
I made a call to Bartlein today to see the status of my barrel. It is in the shop now and should be done by February. Got the scope in last night. Piece by piece it's all coming together! Here is a snapshot of what the glass is! Already ordered the sunshade and Alumina flip caps http://i857.photobuc...

Re: 6.5x47 Lapua build
Thanks for the input guys! My plan for this rifle is varmints and deer, and of course targets. Apparently Bartlein has an 8 month waiting time right now. So since I ordered the barrel in early October, I am hoping I will receive it by late April - early May. But as the saying goes, good things come ...

6.5x47 Lapua build
Well, here is the start of the 6.5x47 Lapua. I just got the stock from McMillan. It is the A1-3 with 45% Black, 30% Dark Grey, and 25% White. I will put more pics up as I get more put together! Whole rifle should be completed by June/July. A list of parts can be seen on the other post I made regardi...

Re: ? for all you Cooper Nuts
The fluting does add a nice touch, and for the most part is cosmetic. Although it does add surface area to increase cooling. Here are a few shots of mine (Varminter). http://i857.photobucket.com/albums/ab139/jdefranc938/IMG_1119.jpg http://i857.photobucket.com/albums/ab139/jdefranc938/IMG_1120.jpg h...

Re: 6.5x47mm Lapua or 6.5x284
I decided on the 6.5x47 Lapua. Going with an 8 twist Bartlein barrel, McMillan A1-3 molded stock, Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25x50 LR/T TMR, Jewell trigger, Tubb's speedlock pin, and getting the 700 action blueprinted and spiral fluted. Just got the stock in and I will take some pics once I get back home th...

Re: ? for all you Cooper Nuts
I also shoot 2 Coopers (3rd is on the way) and each hold a 1/4" group or less consistently. As Rick said, they clean nicely. I have yet to see a Cooper test target that doesn't look INCREDIBLE. The truth is, if it isn't incredible, the rifle won't leave their shop. Cooper/Wilson is a winner.

Re: Need help with load using Benchmark and 39 grn. Sierra BK.
Welcome to the forum. I use the 39 SBK's in my CZ with the Benchmark powder. My pet load is 25.2 grains to give a 5 shot group of .33. Just use the data that's published under the "load data" section and work your way from there. Benchmark has been a stable powder for me, as I use it in al...

6.5x47mm Lapua or 6.5x284
I just picked up a nice Remington 700 308 bolt face Short Action. My two choices for a caliber are either a 6.5x47 Lapua or the 6.5x284. If I choose the 284, I will be forced to use this as a single shot since it is a short action. If I go with the 6x47 Lapua, I can use the 5 round box magazine. Thi...

My buddy's first hog with his new Cooper
My buddy just picked up a new Cooper MTV in 204 Ruger a couple months ago. He finally got a chance to nail this hog tonight. He put a Leupold VX-3 6.5-20x40 LR with VHR on it and loves everything about it. I loaded it up for him with 40 grain Nosler BT over 26.0 grains of Benchmark. This pic was tak...

Hey guys,
I received the Timney adjustable sear and spring for the 77/22. I installed it but I am getting slamfires every now and then. What can I do to correct this?

Re: 77/22 trigger?
I ordered the Timney sear and spring kit. Hopefully it won't take too much filing to get it working right. Rick, I always love the pics! By the way, just custom ordered my Cooper Jackson Hunter in 22LR. This one is customized for my med school graduation woo hoo!!! When I get more info/pics I will p...

77/22 trigger?
Hey guys,
I am looking to buy a new trigger for the 77/22. I have my eye on the Rifle Basix. Any thoughts or ideas on which trigger is the best for performance/ease of install?

Rugger 77/22 All weather bolt hitting scope
Hey guys, I have a Ruger 77/22 in All Weather and I have been having trouble with the bolt hitting the scope. The scope is a little Simmons 4x. It cycles fine but the bolt handle just brushes the scope and marks it up. If I do a completely different mount system (Weigand with Weaver mounting system)...
