Re: Ruger Rifles...plus one or two others
I've got the action and barrel together, just waiting on Boyd's to do their thing. Thanks for the info on the TH's. Did you go with Boyd's on your TH's or try different brands, and what models??

Re: Ruger Rifles...plus one or two others
Thanks BillK. I'm building a 20P on a R783 action with an X-Caliber 24" 11T SS barrel, waiting on Boyd's to send me something, I went with the Pro Varmint but I may order a Spike Camp stock for $100 just to see if I like the thumbhole idea. I have a TH on a 10/22 that is comfy but not sure on a...

Re: Ruger Rifles...plus one or two others
As Skipper said, lots of information and some good advice is available from members and the loading manuals. You will enjoy the 204 R cartridge, it is a very good one and does a fine job on varmints and paper. Your collection of rifles looks very nice and well cared for. Welcome aboard. Bill K :) A...

Re: Countdown to 4000 Members
The first 3 months of this year has been mostly wet, or cloudy, or cloudy and windy, or some variation thereof. February was the 3rd wettest on record for our area, so.... It's starting to dry out but they are calling for 1-3" of rain again on Sunday, so wuppeeee...... It has warmed up around h...

Re: Once-fired Hornady brass
I'll take a small flat rate USPS box full as well. PM me your address and I'll send some $$ to cover the postage and something for the brass as well.

Re: .20 vartarg
Can or would someone compare the 20 practical to the 204R in terms of recoil, powder consumption , barrel wear, etc., like you have here. I have a FV12 in 204R and like it, it's accurate and fun to shoot, etc., just thinking of a winter project since the FV12's are inexpensive base to start with. LOL.

Re: Dogtown bullet seating depth
Most 204R's are long throated, just load to recommended OAL, you can adjust a little bit but still need to keep enough bullet in the neck for adequate tension. 204's don't mine jumping at all. Might try the Sierra 39g instead of the 40g vmax, the 12 twist and 40's don't always play well together.

Re: It's almost time.......
Well, the weather finally cooperated today for a trip to the range. Got the seating depth finalized, gonna/can finish loading up the ammo for the FV12 now, then load up some the R700. Even found some more 39g SBK for the 204R in the file cabinet. LOL. The weather experts are calling for more rain ov...
