Re: good start with new toy

onwards with the sbk it is then i do like it when a load has a big accuracy node if i go with 25.2 i have room either side if the powder measure is .2 of a grain out. Agreed, I analyzed your groupings before reading your post, I had 25.2 as well. I ended up seating the 39 sbks to 2.260". Group...

Pdogs and load development with HBN

I've had the chance to hunt pdogs a couple times with HBN coated bullets after an intensive fall, winter, and spring of load development. Thought I would chime in and share my experiences. I coat my own bullets using a harbor freight tumbler, it is easy, inexpensive, and takes about 2 hours to coat ...

Re: Need some help from someone smarter than me...

Over the years, depending on the rifle and what I am hunting, I have always first seen where my first shot from a cold barrel is hitting, as that is what it will be when hunting larger game, etc. As for target grouping, I have always fired at least one fouling shot, then go for group, as targets/gr...

Need some help from someone smarter than me...

So I have been developing loads for 3 different custom rifles this spring. A 260 Rem, 243 win, and 204 ruger. I clean the gun, shoot a single fouler shot and then I'm getting excellent groups on shots 2-5, they start to open up from there. With the great groups I decide on my load, the problem is wh...

Re: opinion on scope for prarie dogs

$200-$400 and is a 4x12 enough power? Thanks guys I shot a 4-12x for a long time on my 204 and it will do the job, but I was always left for wanting more power. Last year I switched it out for 6-.5-20x and like it a lot better. I don't think you need a full 20x, I would suggest a 4-16x would be a b...

I'd expect to pay around $350-$400 on a local classified website if it is in pristine condition.

Re: I hate collared doves

They winter down here next to the farm. Had 3 or 4 days like this over the past 2 months. This is from about 2 weeks ago, but it seems every time I hunt them there are a few more bird than last time.

Re: 32g 20cal Varmageddon for sale

Sorry guys, they are the HP version. I didn't even know they came out with a HP version for the 20cal so I didn't even look at the boxes when I bought them. If I find anymore, I let you guys know and give you first dibs.

Also they are sold pending payment.

32g 20cal Varmageddon for sale

I was at a local shop today and they had 5 boxes of 20 cal 32g varmageddon bullets. I don't really need them, I just picked them up to help someone out because I saw people looking for them on the thread from last week. With tax, I paid $16.75 a box. If anyone is interested in all 500 bullets, shoot...

Good post, I've been wondering how they compare, looks like a good alternative. Based on what I've seen out of your cooper, that thing could probably group rocks under 1 moa.

Re: No wonder I get confused!

I use the hBN with a 91% alcohol carrier to coat the bores. The bullets are impact plated...... I just started plating and shooting hBN last year. For my bores, I just run a patch with powder hbn up and down the barrel a few times and then shoot my first round. Seems to work pretty good. I have a 2...
