Re: Vortex optics

I'm not a Vortex user or owner, but my buddies up at the Nosler Pro Shop carry Vortex, and report very good customer comments regarding those optics. They don't carry much other than Sworvoski, Schmidt & Bender and Leupold, so that says something right there, right? "it makes me think of a...

Re: lets talk powder.....

i get my best results with H-322 powder using 39 grain Sierra, h-4198 shoots very well also. i also use re-10X and ar comp by alliant powder. i have recently read that varget with 28 grains was good. i tried 27.9 and 28.0 and 28.1 . the 28.1 shot best in my .204 model 12 savage. there are lots of go...

Re: New to 204 R

i have had really good groups using H-322, 7 1/2 rem primers, 39 grain sierra bullets. my savage model 12 and nikon monarch in 5.5 x 16.5x 44 shoots better than i could ever believe.

Re: .204 Ammo????

i used fiocchi .204 in 40 grain bullets that shot really well and i think they have some of the best brass out there. i paid just shy of $30.00 for a 50 round box. the .223 was about $25.00 for 50 rounds

Re: .20 vartarg

thanks for the quick response. it was just a question i wanted answered. i have a couple .204's. the best shooter is the savage model 12 which shoots better than i can. my best group was 4 shots you could cover with the open mouth of a .30 cal. case. overall outside to outside was .298 when you subt...

.20 vartarg

i keep seeing articles about the .20 vartarg but i don't see any of the information telling what the cartridge's parent case is. is it the .223 rem case? what are the dimensions of the case--length, shoulder angle etc. how is it different from the .20 practical or .20 tactical? just wondering. i sho...

Re: Dogtown bullet seating depth

if you think that you need to get out to the lands with the .204 get a custom barrel--factory barrels are pretty good with the long free bore. i think you could trust what the people who developed the caliber have done and still shoot awesome groups. it just seems a no brainer to me.

Re: New to 204 R

i think that you are on the right track here but don't discount the 40 grain bullets a lot of folks seem to have bad luck with them in a 1 in 12 twist but i have shot some pretty good groups using fiocchi ammo loaded with 40 grain v-max. the best load ever for me was with neck sized fiocchi brass us...

Re: FFP Reticles

sometimes i wonder what the big deal is with ffp. i have gotten along quite well with sfp scopes and they cost a whole bunch less. i really like a fine crosshair and it seems that the 2nd focal plane works better for me.

i am sure that BobTR knew that the letter was written two years ago but other readers appreciate all helpful comments whether the original was old or new. i for one found the old information helpful. i have several vortek scopes and nikon scopes and love the nikons as they have better clarity--i hav...

Re: Is there something wrong?

i have shot a few hundred rounds of fiocchi ammo and have never had an issue with it. the first five rounds i had were given to me by another shooter and said to try these as they were extremely accurate. i put the first three into one small hole and returned the last two as i told him i already kne...

Re: Cooper 21 204 Ruger load test

i guess if you have to ask how much it cost you can't afford it. it seems to be a secret. congratulations on your new cooper it is a beautiful rifle and it looks like it shoots as good as it looks! i don't have any doubt that it will bring you a lot of joy over the years, shooting, loading and shoo...
