Re: Are newer Kimbers really that bad???
I agree, limp wristing is a problem. So is the fact most are trying to start on a short 1911 platform with their stiff 20# springs or even double springs, and weird barrel geometries that amplify the need for a good grip, instead of longer full sized guns which are much more forgiving. My 12/13yr ol...

Re: Anyone use a Hornady seater/crimp die?
Most seater from Hornady, RCBS, Redding, Lyman, etc have a built in roll crimp feature, even Lee seaters when you get away from their "dead length" seaters. I don`t crimp any bottle neck cartridges wih the exception of 32spcl for my tube magazined M94. They do hold the 32 spcl bullets in p...

Re: mods
Legality depends on the area one is in. That, and the hoops one has to jump through where they are allowed makes them fairly rare.
Here In Michigan they have just recently become legal, and I`ve yet to see one outside of photos.

Not Wirelessguy2005 but I believe you can`t ship barrels, brass, or a lot of other shooting accessories out of country either, except in some instances, to licensed dealers.

Re: r 15 and bolt gun
a friend of mine told me that ar spent shells and spent shells from a bolt reload different can they be interchanged or do they all have to be resized thx. Anything not fired from your rifle will need to be fully resized if you want to insure they will chamber in your rifle. Cases from your rifle l...

Re: Speer TnT Bullets
I clicked on the Speer link and it said this about these bullets" "These excellent varmint options use non-lead technology for great terminal performance". Are these an all copper buller? No. They have a powdered core similar to the Nosler "lead free", Hornady "NTX non...

Re: Speer TnT Bullets
mvpal, give Alliant a call and see if they can offer more choices. They will only have data for their powders but might have something in Rx10 as example that isn`t released yet on their site. Hodgdon or Western should be able to give you starting loads for some of their powders also. Keep in mind t...

Re: How do you load flat based bullets?
TP, no need to go to the trouble of using some tubing. Don't let the idea of chamfering the case mouth scare you either as it is required. Obviously the RCBS is not doing its job and yes you should use a VLD tool. If you don't want to spend alot just pick up a cheap Lyman VLD tool for around $9 and...

Re: Speer TnT Bullets
Alliant is Speers sister company under ATK and does all of Speers data testing. Go to their site and the 32gr TNT is covered with some published data. I don`t know why Speer would tell you no data was available and not direct you to Alliant. Only one powder is listed but a call to Alliants tech serv...

Re: Pulling .204 Bullets?
Run a cartridge up through your press without a die in place and grab the bullet with a vice grip or side cutter and then lower the ram with the pliers braced on the press top. The bullet will pop out quite easily and with a little practice you won`t screw up the bullets either.

Re: 17 Hornady Hornet Reamer Print
Thanks!
I hope that lead and throat is short enough to keep the bullet in the case and still approch the rifling. There won`t be any problem with magazine lenght but those 17s are short shanked little buggers. That`s my 1 gripe with the 204

Re: Difference in Reload Data
They used different lots of bullet and powder in their labs and likely different primers and brass brands or lots also. Then there is the difference in test beds. Throats, bore geometry, chamber volume...Just as my max load may difffer widely from yours so do thiers. The data is not meant to be cut ...

Re: Powder burn rate question
Velocity is related to time under pressure. A "fast" powder for the app normally doesn`t keep (peak) pressures up for long enough to achive top velocity, too "slow" a powder the opposite. You need a powder with a burn that will match the chamber bore ratio of the rifle and reach ...

Re: CFE223 anyone?
It is interesting, just the other day I read on a jug of Alliant 1000, and it shows it has some sort of copper fouling reducer in it also. I guess they are all getting onto the band wagon.. BIll K Interesting, I was reading a thread on another forum on this subject a week ago. The guys talking (3-4...
