Re: 39 Grain BK
Thanks for the thoughts. As for eating them I posted something on this a little while back. I did skin one out and its in the freezer. I haven't had time to try it yet. I also forgot to mention of the ten that I killed so far this year only one made it back in the hole. I think I may have "wing...

Re: 39 Grain BK
Its amazing how different barrels are. I am using 25.7 Grains of Benchmark and can only get 3615 at the muzzle. I went to 26+ and still was only around 3675. I am starting to wonder about my chronogragh.

Re: Range finders for woodchuck hunting
I use a Nikon and have had little problem with the unit itself but true it is difficult to hold steady. The problem I have run into is the properties I hunt are rather hilly and if they are on the top part of a knoll and you range a foot over him from not ranging steady it can be a 100 yards or so o...

Re: 39 Grain BK
I can't get anywhere near those velocities. I am at max charge for benchmark. I realize that there are other powders that may produce a little faster velocities but still not over 3700 and change. I tried going over, slowly, with benchmark and got to around 26.4 and still was in the 3670 range. Gues...

Well I finally gottem all loaded and ready to go. Went out yesterday with my eight year old and saw 5 was able to shoot at one. The eight year old was "helping" get set up on them and the ground hogs had quite some time to hide. Anyway, in past posts I was asking about more spalsh or mist ...

Re: Effects of wind
I was going to post something about this last week and didn't. I was shooting ground hogs last Saturday and here in NJ we had some pretty stiff wind. It was a day I could go out with the kids so we went anyway. I shot two, one at 190 yards and one at under 100, didn't range this one. Anyway, I was s...

NICE As I said before, you a lucky man. Tired.. but lucky. I went out this morning and took another Whistle Pig. Four so far this year. My shot was a little close. 52 yards. He was not a very bright Whistle Pig.

Re: Slow Fire
The problem does not sound like the trigger. The problem sounds like the bolt, firing pin assembly. It sounds like the delay is the firing pin working loose in the bolt. A reccomendation would be, IMHO, to take the bolt apart and clean it along with the firing pin. Then oil very lightly. Very lightl...

Re: Leupold V-X II
so a come up chart is essentialy alist of how many clicks are needed at each range. For example, I am dead zero at 100 yards, at two hundred yards need three "clicks" up. Am I on the right track?

Re: Leupold V-X II
futuretrades, how does one get the reticle customized to their load? Are you refering to getting a new reticle put in or just that you documented the range eetc. for your load?
