Re: Groundhog crawl aways with .204..

I have not shot groundhogs but I have shot a bunch of prairie dogs. Try the 39gr Blitzkings. I have had doubles sending both prairie dogs high into the air in two directions multiple times with the 39 grainers. My brother likes the 17 fireball and we noticed that his prairie dog hits with Berger bul...

Re: Ball vs. Stick powders

I personally switched to Hodgdon's extreme powders, when they shot well. The Long Range Pursuit guys did a demonstration using ammo from an ice chest verses ammo left in the heat. There was a difference in point of impact. I also use the powder type that gives me the best accuracy, stick verses roun...

Re: .204 Ruger Popularity?

The 204 is not as popular as it once was. I work at a gun counter and sell very few 204s. When I was in Montana, a store there said that they are selling well there. We have little ammo for sale and limited options for brass, Winchester and Remington brass cannot be found. It is a great round but is...

Re: Morning HMR Rock Chuck Walkabout

Great trip you had and a pretty one too. Rock chucks are so much fun to shoot. There is a 20 acre parcel that some of us have been shooting at. Since there are homes on three sides we have been using shotguns. So far we are up to 87 so far this year. Always look forward to your trips and pictures. B...

That looks like a nice group. I would be checking out the heavier bullets for groups now. Looks like you got a great rat gun there!

Re: M-77 Hawkeye Predator range results

Montana Extreme copper killer and Wipe Out are my go to cleaners. Wipe Out will get the carbon. Glad your Ruger is shooting so well. If you reloaded, I would recommend Sierra 39 grain Blitzkings.

Re: 204 ruger wolf

I would be concerned with an injured wolf coming after me, so I would be wanting something bigger than a 204. I would also want a clean kill rather than a long painful death for the wolf.

Re: FFP Reticles

I also have two Vortex 6-24 FFP scopes. I love them for varmint hunting, especially long range prairie dog shooting. I shoot one part of a hill and the next shot may be over a hundred yards from the last shot. I can easily make adjustments in the scope. The drop charts are good at any magnification ...

Great video, music and all. Suggestion, don't let the music over power the voices. Wish I could make videos that good!

Re: Electronic scale with RCBS Explorer kit

If the kit comes with the RCBS 1500 scale, you can add the powder dispenser to it later, it just plugs into it. I really like my Chargemaster 1500 powder system. I have only had one Lee die and would not get another. I would save up for some Redding dies. Good luck on your venture. I would look for ...

Re: Savage B Mag in 17 wsm

I talked to a regular customer that has had his BMag awhile and happy with it. He found that the rifle needs to be kept clean. He then sprays a good coat of Rem Oil in the action after cleaning it and has not had any further problems with it. He had problems with the rifle until he made sure there w...

Re: Tikka t3 varmint vs remy 700 sps .204

I would go with the Tikka. You must be looking at a varmint model for that price. I would rather start out with a good rifle than get one and have to keep playing with it to get it to shoot well. I will probably catch a bunch of flack now, but I think Remington's quality went down hill some time ago...

Nice outing, always nice to get out and get a yote or two. Do you do anything with the pelts? Should be good pelts with it being that cold.
