204 test loads *pics*

So I reloaded some 39 gr Sierra Blitzkings using H4895 powder and Remington 7-1/2 primers. I started with 26.4 gr and worked my way up, for the most part, in 0.2 gr increments. I will include the pics and you guys feel free to comment on anything I should do. Could someone please tell me what is the...

Re: ND Prairie Dog Hunt on 7-17-2009--Graphic Pictures

Silverfox- Nice photos of the carnage! I'll tell you what, how about if I mail you one of those postal service boxes and you catch me a handful of those little buggars (preferably alive) and we'll transplant them in Illinois so I can have something new to hone my shooting skills on!!! I'm sure the ...

do you clean between load tests

Hello all, Just thought I would find out what other people do regarding this matter. I have test loads worked up for my .204 Savage vlp. Each test load consists of 5 rounds. What I am wondering is whether any of you clean your rifle between each test load (after 5 rounds are shot), so that every new...

Sounds like a great way to learn your rifles! Good to see you out there doing your best to control the rodent population! Thanks for sharing, Silverfox!

Re: Didn't even get a chance to call

Sorry if I got my wires crossed, Song Dog . Dixon Springs is at the southern tip of Illinois near the Shawnee National Forest. For some reason, I thought you hunted down that way. I don't know this Tim Wells. A buddy of mine that I have hunted with for years used the term and I took a liking to it. ...

Re: Didn't even get a chance to call

Thanks for the comments guys. So this is a picture of the rifle that I use on coyotes. Actually, this picture was taken down in your neck of the woods, Song Dog . I shot him a couple of years ago around the Dixon Springs, Illinois area. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/DarkNight/06-07%20Hunting...

Didn't even get a chance to call

This hunt took place a few weeks ago now but I thought I’d post it for the fun of it. I decided to do a quick hunt in a timber located about ½ mile behind a farmer’s buildings. I drove to the gate opening and began walking out across a snow-covered soybean field. Between where I par...

Silverfox-

Nice post! I like those pictures of rough-ground as far as the eye can see. It looks like it's a hundred miles to the next road!

Re: An 8 Coyote weekend

Melvin,
The pictures and the story were great! It sounds like you have a few coyotes chewing on that dead cow.......or at least there used to be!

Thanks for sharing!

Feb 22 success

I had to go up to NW Illinois this weekend and decided to make a stand just north of my wife's house. I drove around the section and saw A LOT of tracks going into the section on the east side of the road. This timber is across the road from where I got another coyote earlier in the season. There is...

Re: Dave's IL visit

Good story and pictures Melvin. It looks like you have some nice mixed timber/farmland over to the west there! I took a buddy out tonight and tried calling a farmer's place where he had coyotes chewing on one of his dead cows. The fields were flatter than a pancake and we had one group howling waaaa...

Re: Called in another pair

Nice picture Melvin! Hey I saw in the other post that you have inlaws in Champaign.....small world! I'm curious if the coyotes in your neck of the woods come in silently or if they respond to your howls. It seems that most of the ones east of Champaign and up north don't respond to the howls. I was ...

Re: Rancher takes Silverfox on a guided tour of new groun--1-11-

Got any pets Silverfox? It sounds like you need a couple of new vets in that area ;)

Seriously though, nice looking country out there! All we have is muddy flat cropland around Champaign right now. :wall:
