Re: Temperature sensative 204 ruger powder Help!
TrapperDan/Bill K, thanks for your reply. What I was trying to say is sitting in the sun in 100 degree heat shooting PD's, the barrel really never cools down well. Sometimes a loaded round may sit in that warm/hot barrel 5 minutes before firing. That's what I meant about 2230 reacting to a hot barre...

Re: Temperature sensative 204 ruger powder Help!
Thanks for the feed guys. The only one I did try is 8208. Started 2 gr below max & the next to lowest load did give me a 3 shot 0.303 group. The more I went the bigger the group. Max was about 1 inch. And for the 2nd reply, yes sir I always try to give myself "wiggle" room. If possible...

Temperature sensative 204 ruger powder Help!
Hi everyone. I could really use your help on choosing a powder for my AR 204 ruger I just finished. It has a Shilen 24" 1-9 twist and I hope to shoot 35-40 gr. bullets. My concern is this dang Texas weather. Most of my shooting is when it's 90 to 100+ degrees and the gun never really gets to co...

Re: Building AR: Barrel nut torque for accuracy?
Yes Sir, I threw everything out the window on this one, even stuck on a magpul PRS stock. Sure hope it shoots to my expectations. And yes I will post pics. Actually I'm building two almost alike, one this .204 & one in .223. The .223 will have same upper/lower/handguard/trigger but a 20" Wh...

Re: Building AR: Barrel nut torque for accuracy?
It's a Seekins Precision IRMT-3 V3 billet upper and a Seekins billet lower with a Geissele super enhanced trigger. The handguard is also Seekins, SP3R V3. Thank you MR. acloca for all your help. JD

Re: Building AR: Barrel nut torque for accuracy?
This is a strange system. The hand guard assembly is built onto the upper & has a groove in it for the gas tube. The titanium barrel nut screws inside this and has two flats on it to use a 1 1/8" wrench or crows foot. It's the easiest most solid system I've ever seen. I do have a MI & T...

Building AR: Barrel nut torque for accuracy?
Hello. I'm sort of new to building an AR & would like opinions on barrel nut torque for accuracy. I'm using a Seekins IRMT-3 V3 upper and a Seekins SP3R V3 hand guard which requires no certain torque to align gas tube holes, it stays aligned at any torque. I've read that the less torque = best a...

Re: Lilja 204 Ruger barrel anyone???
Thanks Rick, I think your right. They have them in stock now, a little expensive, but I threw all that out the window when I chose seekins, black rain, magpul prs, etc. Thanks for your input. JD

Lilja 204 Ruger barrel anyone???
Hey everyone. Just finished my Black Rain/Seekins/Shilen 204 build with 1-9 twist. I'm wanting to build another now with a 1-12 twist. Anyone using the Lilja 24" drop in 204 ruger barrel? Tell me about it please. My other option for a 1-12, White Oak Armament? Any suggestions will be welcome. T...

Re: 204 Ruger AR COAL?
Thank you RBP. The ASC magazines, are these the brand you use with your 204? Do they work & function well? I need to buy some 20 rounders but haven't decided which to buy yet. Thanks, JD Southeast Texas

204 Ruger AR COAL?
Hey guys. I'm new to this site, new to the AR 204, & only been shooting AR's about a year now. I just finished building a 204, Shilen 24" 1-9, Seekins upper & handguard, & Black Rain lower with Geissele trigger. I need to know what the COAL you guys start out with on new loads. I ju...
