Re: soot down side of cases

Do you think a .5 grain increase in charge would be too much of a jump? I think one .5 gn jump would be fine. Seeing as your from Alaska let me assume finding a place to shoot is real easy. I would run a short quick pressure test. That way if things don't improve or improve too fast you can just st...

Re: soot down side of cases

It is very popular here. Ive also witnessed some very good accuracy with it. Problem for me was it couldn't maintain that accuracy very long without a lot of scrubbing. The games I played did not allow much time for scrubbing between relays. I wont pick on it further, in the past they get sensitive....

Re: soot down side of cases

Umn yeah, I see a pattern. You enjoy watching black smoke pour from round pipes ;):)

All kidding aside help the guy find some decent load data. Whered you newbies hide the stuff?

Re: soot down side of cases

Ok yeah, it's been awhile since I've been here. Our old forum had links to all the reloading data at the top of the page. This new forum doesn't. No idea where they stuck it now but I'm sure it's somewhere. That was a very user friendly linkythingamajiggy. Sorry to see its been hidden.

Re: soot down side of cases

Eeeww, that's like pouring diesel fuel into a Lamborghini. :) :) Just my little dig at those who insist on using the modern equivalent of black powder in a modern cartridge :) I drop by here once in a while to rile up the crowd. Well it's like this. Most reloading data is on the conservative side. M...

Re: X-terminator powder NEEDED!!!

I just did a fairly extensive search. Found one lb containers in Alberta for 38.00 can. Sorry.
If you ever decide to buy a 6ppc you may want more.

Re: Temperature sensative 204 ruger powder Help!

Remember, the faster the burn rate for any particular cartridge the greater the likely hood you'll get into trouble with extreme temperature swings.
Out of the seven 8208 and 4895 would be my choice and I'm not a big fan of 8208. Benchmark is a pretty stable powder though.

Re: Sources for new 204 cases

Simple. Why feed a Cooper cheap brass. Buy the Nosler. Do you mean some other brand or are you referring to Norma ? If so, remember, I believe, Norma makes Nosler. Some one can correct me , if I am wrong. Will not hurt my feelings. Bill k :) The OP stated the only brass he could find was Nosl...

Re: Lock-Ease for rifle barrels. Information please?

Is it possible to make this at home? I have a ton of graphite and this would be a good use for it. Does the lock ease clean and coat the barrel? I have mixed powdered graphite with rubbing alcohol and created my own mixture. It works just fine. For those who polish brass toss a few soft cotton patc...

Re: Clean burning powders for the 204 Ruger ?

Back in the day I used W-748. Not the cleanest powder but after ten fouling shots the fouling seemingly leveled off and did not accumulate creating a consistent bore condition. I'd shoot these barrels all year in competition without cleaning, 500+ rounds. Also burns much cooler which is a plus. Benc...

Re: Nosler brass is GARBAGE!!

You are all right, my bad. I got a little complacent I guess, but I think I might have found the problem. I measured the case length on the ones with the blown out primers and every one was 1.818" or shorter. Everything longer than that was fine. I checked the SAAMI specs and the case length f...

Re: 204 Brass Question

Thankyou for a little positive news on the Hornady. I have some loaded with SR4759 to simulate HMR velocity and hopes the barrel stays cooler. Maybe quieter than the fast loads. If Hornady can group 1 MOA or less to 150 yds I would be satisfied. :-) Sent from my VS920 4G using Tapatalk 2 If your lo...

Re: GOOD BRASS/BAD BRASS HELP

I just broke down and bough some Norma brass.I hope its worth the price .Do I still need to prep it before loading or is it consistant enough to just load? I just got done weighing the Hornady brass I have and its not very uniform as far as weight goes. My goal is to get more accuracy, not to extend...
