Re: Range finder.

I did discover that when hunting coyotes I trust my eye. Seldom have they givin me the oppertunity to range them. They keep look...

Cant do that with 20 practical and 204 shilen barrel is a laser beam! Not that 20 practical isnt a very impresive ro...

Re: model 1
I thought for a while model 1 went out of business. I have a model one upper on a rock river lower, shilen match 204 barrel. Absolute nail gun precision! No complaints.

Re: Your Best/Favorite Deer Hunting Rifles?
Well here in the anti gun state of illinois we do not have a rifle season. So I opt for my 50 cal muzzeloader. I do have a very nice heavy barrel rem 700 in 308, wife bought me a 30-06 for christmas and Im building a 243 at present. Over all in whith tail country I would use a 243 or a 308. Plenty o...

Re: another cooper question ?
In a 20 mph wind with 17 cal bullets thats awsome!!! The wind drift on a 17 I am guessing would be what? 6 inches plus? I guess depends on bullet grains but still no matter impressive. I have considered a 17 call. The only one I have currently is my Beeman Gold Pellet gun. I have to say at 20 yards ...

Re: distance from lands with my new 700
I think you will find more than one rifle has plenty of free bore/throat ( like Roy Weatherby used) this way they get the velocity they want. Not really a new thing. You can set your barrel back, shorten the throat, but then some factory ammo will not then shoot in it, without pressure jumping.. Bi...

Re: another cooper question ?
LOL No offense taken. I look at things with common Geometry principles? I dont know if it applys or not. If they shoot half inch groups at a hundred Thats Great. Not many factory guns can do that for sure,. I know my light barrel Rem Bdls didnt. My heavy barrel Vs 308 is a different animal. It is ve...

Re: distance from lands with my new 700
Perry inital load testing i do half to a grain increments. I find my best load and then tweak in tenth grain increments later! Sorry I get sidetracked at times :wall: Incedently you could get your gunsmith to correct freebore in your rifle? It is a bit of a prcess and if a light barrel you might jus...

Re: distance from lands with my new 700
I have a 15 year old Rem 700 Bdl 22-250 I tried touching the lands with 50 Nosler Ballistic tips. I can do it but the finished product doesnt fit in the magazine. This is a common problem with many factory rifles. I worked up some good shooting loads for my rem but the best ones efectivly made it a ...
