Me too. Lord knows how many of them I blow, so it's very sweet when I manage not to screw one up.

I coaxed him and two buddies out of a field with a few purrs on the hand-made slate call that is also i...

Re: Now I know what it feels like to be RIO

Rick: I haven't picked up the rifle from my FFL yet, so that's why there are no photos. That's a lame excuse that is completely worthy of Gunny's scorn, so I will take my punishment without protest.

I will be sure to post a full report once I lay hands on the new addition.

Now I know what it feels like to be RIO

My buddy Rick (in Oregon) seems to have a knack for picking up fantastic rifles at amazing prices. Lady luck smiled on me recently and I'm the proud owner of a Remington Ti in .308 with a Leupy 2.5-8 riding on top. Anyone who follows this market knows that the Ti is not an easy piece to come by, so ...

Re: richards microfit gunstocks

My experience mirrors those who have posted before me. With a bit of persistence, you should be able to get someone on the phone. I called a few times before finally getting through, but once that happened it was smooth sailing for me. They usually have some inventory on hand, so you might ask about...

Re: 204 rifle

There are at least two CZ Varmint rifles in .204 on GunBroker right now. One is NIB and the other is previously loved. I don't know how attractive the prices are (not familiar with the CZ market), but you could easily buy one and have it shipped to a local FFL.

What stock? ;)

I sure hope Cooper sorts out your extractor issue soon. I am a huge Cooper fan, but this is a frustrating problem. It's good that Cooper is doing a good job of keeping you in the loop with status updates, though.

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

Allen, They quoted $300 for the regular Phoenix stock (black with red webbing), $125 to fit and bed. I ordered the olive drab green stock with black webbing which costs another $200. Pretty pricey! Thanks a lot Rick! :( Bill Wowsers! $625 for a green/black Phoenix stock, fit and bedded to your rifl...

Re: another cooper question ?

43 yards really! So its safe to say at 100 you can at least double the spread? Wow. Not necessarily, because groups don't always spread out in a linear fashion. Some people shoot a group at 100 yards and then assume the group size can be multiplied out for 200, 300, 400, etc yards. That process doe...

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

Wish I could find a Cooper for $1600. they are running around $2300 everywhere I check.. :wall: Bill K Bill, what are you looking for? It shouldn't be too difficult to snag a M21 or M22 for substantially less than $2,300. Whittakers has a whole slew of Cooper rifles in various configurations, and t...

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

You might try taking the bolt apart to see if something is locked up due to debris or lack of lubrication. Aside from that, I'm afraid I don't have any useful advice expect to call Cooper and talk to someone. They'll either offer advice or tell you how to send the rifle back in for evaluation. Best ...

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

Bill, I'm not quite clear on your predicament. After you fire a round and work the bolt, does the action open and the empty case remain in the chamber? What happens if you chamber a loaded round and then try to extract it?

I think you'll catch more eyes if you post them in the classified section. Best of luck with the sales!
