also, is it true fluted barrels are more picky with ammo? i read that they are pickier because of the harmonics of the barrel, or is that off in perfectionist land? or is sub moa, with the vlp, more than acheivable out of the box with factory ammo. You should have absolutely no problem getting sub-...

Single-shot rifles should be a bit more rigid than those with box magazines, making them more accurate. However, I'd be hard pressed to make my decision based on this factor. There are VERY few people in the world that would ever notice the very slight difference in accuracy due to this difference i...

I dont post on here much but I can say without a doubt the 204 kills deer dead with a head shot. As far as ethical hunting just about any gun is more ethical than a bow, why dont people preach to bow hunters? A well placed head/neck shot with a 204 is ethical, blasting at deer with 300mags knocking...

Gentlemen, I did not post the picture of the doe I took with my .204 to start controversy. I did not get my .204 as a deer hunting rifle. I primarily use a 25.06 for that purpose. It is nice to see most everyone here agrees that being an ethical hunter is a VERY important factor in our sport. While...

I'm fairly certain that most people on this forum know what the 40 gr berger in the .204 is capable of. A few of us may have even sho...

A rock will kill a deer if you throw it just right. Doesn't mean I'll fill my pockets with stones next time I climb in my deer stand. In my opinion, a .204 is too small for deer. In my opinion, a 250 yard shot in the field is challenging. In my opinion, using a .204 on a 250 yard shot at a deer is u...
I'll throw in my 2 cents. I've been very happy with my Leupold Vari-XIII scope, but I had a terrible time with the Leupold mounts that I purchased to go with the scope. As I was installing the front base, one of the screws broke in half. Upon closer inspection of the screw, the remains of a small ai...

Hi Bill, I do a lot of hunting up in Glasgow, MO every year. One of my friends has a farm up there. It's a great area for deer, turkey and coyotes. I'd be curious where you hunt for prairie dogs. My friend and I are looking for a place (as close as we can find..KS, OK, NE?) to try that sport this ye...
