My First Egg Shoot

My son and I entered our first ever egg shoot at South Haven Rod and Gun Club, SH Michigan. Had my .204 CZ Varmint sighted in at 100 and found out that it's a different story shooting eggs at 200. Managed to find the poi after a few shots and began to break a few eggs. Guy next to me was using a 6mm...

Re: CZ .204 Varmint at the Range Yesterday

The way I shake it's a wonder that I ever shot a group that good. I have done lots of 1/2" groups but never that tight. I have been advised that a competition seating die may cure the flyer but I also can't out rule the shooter if you know what I mean. Using simple Lee dies,,,neck sizing only. ...

Re: CZ .204 Varmint at the Range Yesterday

Thanks..............and the best part is that it was $580 NIB from gunbroker.com. Doesn't break the piggy bank for what you get. Mine has the English walnut stock....very nice and I only floated the barrel and nothing else

CZ .204 Varmint at the Range Yesterday

Amazed myself with 4 of 5 shots through the same hole at 100 yds even in a breeze and heat distortion through my inexpensive 6.5-20X50 Whitetail Classic scope complete with 66 yr old eyes....maybe luck.... don't know....but I'll take it. 39gr Bk, 25.6 gr Benchmark, 2.31 COL http://i983.photobucket.c...

How to anneal brass

I just watched 2 youtube videos on annealing brass cases. On the first one the guy heated the necks and shoulders to blue and quenched them. On the second a guy heated to orange and quenched them. The first guy warned to not heat above the blue temp. The second guy makes them glow. So what are your ...

Re: 39 gr BK loads

My CZ 527 loves 25.5gr Benchmark and Rem 7 1/2 primers with the 39 BK. Did 1/2" today which is the norm for my rifle and my 66 yr old eyes. H4895 has also worked well for me but not so much with RL10X. I was looking in a reloader manual today...think it was Noslers or Norman.....can't remember ...

Re: Awesome Day With My Son

Thanks guys for your affirmative responses. Can't hardly wait till I get the grand kids out there on the range. Only wish they could have grown up where I did on a mid Michigan farm full of pheasants and squirrels and crows and fox and deer and tons of sparrows and starlings. Close to heaven as a ki...

Awesome Day With My Son

Awesome day in Michigan yesterday shooting with my favorite friend. Time flies. He's almost 40 and I now have my Medicare card. Don't wait till you spend time with your son. Only thing I wish is that I still had my dad so he could have joined us. It was 45 and sunny at the range near the Amyway worl...

Re: New Toy

My CZ varmint shoots amazingly well and love the set trigger. 1/4" at 100 yds and it's a beautiful gun. Paid $585 new for mine. Would do it all over again.

Re: Deburring Flashholes?

I ordered the KM Precision Shooting Products flash hole uniformer. They make it for .20 caliber and it works great. Very precise and you can feel it doing its job on new cartridge cases. I understand that once a case is done it's done for life. Happy shooting
