Re: Lovin the CZ

Have about 400 rounds through it. Tried 10X and 4895 and benchmark. Also tried 35 gr Berger, 32gr and 40 gr Horn, 32 dogtowns, 32gr Sierra and of course 39 Bk's. Kept narrowing things down until it came down to COL. Then zero'd in at 2.31. Bingo! Been very meticulous about cleaning and bought a cust...

Lovin the CZ

Finally got a load worked up......39gr BK, 25.7gr BM, Winchester Brass, 7 1/2 Rem benchmark primers, 2.31 COL. Have been pondering a Cooper but how would you justify when the CZ (527 Varmint) does this at 100 and on a consistent basis. http://i983.photobucket.com/albums/ae315/shamuboat/IMG_4636_Smal...

Scope Question for Precision Shooting

Posted on .204 reloading section yesterday about my finally accurate load. Now need some advice about scopes. I am shooting quite accurately (1/2" and less at 100 yds) but wonder if my cz varminter will even do better. I am using a $100 Simmons WhiteTail Classic 6.5-20x50 scope with duplex reti...

Re: Sweet spot...finally!!!

Holding dead on....wind from the back. And great idea to put the flyer case aside. Hadn't thought of that.

Re: Sweet spot...finally!!!

I have been consistently getting 1/2" groups, usually 3 or 4 shots into 1 hole and then a flyer which opens the group to 1/2". So this is repeatable. I loaded some at 2.29, 2.30 and 2.31 COL to find out which groups the best. I had checked them out all the way from 2.25 to 2.34 and found t...

Re: trimming .204 brass**help**

I second the Wilson trimmer. Relatively inexpensive when compared to others and the case holder works great. I went through 50 cases in just a few minutes. Smooth and accurate.

Sweet spot...finally!!!

Been working for almost a year to find the best load for my CZ 204 Varmint. Narrowed down the load to 25.7gr Benchmark with a 39 Blitzking. The COL that delivers is 2.31. 4 of 5 were in a bughole at 100 yds with the 5th just outside. Slightly larger than 1/4" group. Quite happy with this as the...

Re: C.O.L. for the CZ 527 Varmint .204

Thanks for the reply wirelessguy. I am totally satisfied with my CZ. I am certain that it shoots better than me. The 2.3 COL does seem right on. I will post my results of my trials with 2.26, 2.29 and 2.31 in about a week. Have a new scope on order. Weaver Grand Slam 6-20x40 with varminter reticle. ...

C.O.L. for the CZ 527 Varmint .204

Need some input on COL for my CZ. I have the 527 Varmint. It seems to shoot most accurately the BK 39gr with 25.7gr Benchmark. I am now going to test some different seating depths to see where that takes me. I note that guys seat from 2.25 to 2.35 depending on their gun. Has anyone done any testing ...

Re: what one

predhunter.....you will love shooting the .204. If you do get into reloading you will up your fun even more. I shoot 39gr bk's into one bughole with my cz 527 varmint. I use Benchmark 25.7 gr seated at 2.31 with rem 7 1/2 br primers. Have fun and be safe

Re: TC-.204

I believe that Glen is right on. My CZ is 1:12 and scatters both of these loads. Went to 39gr BK's and 35gr Bergers and even 32gr BK's and they do 1/2". Try the 32 gr Hornandy if you are shooting factory loads.....you will likely find a bid difference between these and the 40 gr. Have fun

H&R Handi Rifle in .204 for sale

Bought a new Harrington Richardson Handi Rifle last summer in .204 Ruger. Wanted to try this caliber out. Love the .204. Later decided to go for the CZ Varmint. Now have decided to sell the Handi Rifle. It has the 24" bull barrel. Shoots very very well. I had the trigger reworked by a gunsmith ...

Re: Howa Axiom riffle .204?? or something else??

Love the Whitetail classic scope. Bought it from Midway for around $100 and Simmons had a 25% anniversary rebate program last fall....so for $75 it is an awesome deal. 6.5-20X50
