6.5 creedmoor, any good ?

Anybody out there have a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle ? I see where Savage is chambering their Modle 10 Peditor rifle for it and I read where it is a very accurate cartridge, even out to long ranges. Just wondering if anybody has any comments on this. Thanks

rough barrel.....a problem ?

Hi guys, I have a question. I have a Savage Preditor in 204 and the other day I was cleaning it and decided to give it a good scrubbing this time. I normally clean it every 10-15 rounds with Gunslick foaming bore cleaner and then some Hopps Bench Rest copper solvant to keep it shooting good when hun...

weaver scopes - how good are the new ones ?

Hi guys, I have a 4 x 12 Simmons scope that came out on my Savage Preditor. I've had it a few years now and it's held up pretty good for a cheap $60 scope. But when it gets foggy, dusk dark, or when I just need to see what I'm looking at clearly, it just does'nt have it. The camo matches the rifle, ...

Re: 45 GR Hornady Bullets?

I have'nt shot any coyotes with them yet, but at 100 yrds they will punch a hole through a 7/16 " steel plate and a couple of 4x4 posts leaveing an inch hole in the posts. I think they're moveing at around 3650fps. So I can believe the Hornady 45 gr sp would go right through a hog. Maybe ...

Re: scope problems - not enough adjustment

By the way - Rick. Mine seems to function very well so far. Only got 50 rnds through the pipe. Quite alot more pop than my 223 upper. shoots pretty flat too. And man, hits coyotes hard !

Re: scope problems - not enough adjustment

Well, I had this same mount and rings on another ar15 upper and had no problem with the same scope in this way. I wonder if the upper is a little off ? It can't be off much because at 100 yrd it's about 2-3" low when I run out of upward adjustment. Or maybe the mounts got bent or something (sho...

scope problems - not enough adjustment

Hi guys, I have 5x15 Bushnell Legend scope that has never let me down on my old 243. Then I bought another rifle with higher mounts( an AR15 upper in 25 wssm) and now i've ran out of adjustment. It shot center and 15" low at 100 yrds when I first put it on and I don't have enough adjustment to ...

Re: Help from the Midwest Coyote hunters.

I generally go out around the mid to late afternoon. I make sure that the area has been seen to have coyotes in it and is an area where they like to hunt mice/rabbits, ect. Then I set up and waite all the way up until it gets too dark to see. Most of the time they will come in to hunt some time in t...

Re: Pistol VS small Rifle primers

I got a little Ruger 77/22 hornet i've had for 10 years and love that little gun cartridge combo, but anyways, I get 1/2" groups at 100 yrds with it useing 11.3 gr IMR 4227, 40 gr v-max, win brass and small pistol primers. Small rifle primers opens up the groups quite a bit. And that's with all...

Re: Savage 10XP Predator pkg

I have one in 204. It's killed coyote, ferrel cats, skunks, coons, ect. A sweet shooter, naturally accurate. With 39 gr blitzkings and 25 gr RE-10x and the 45 gr Hornady Sp with 24 1/2 gr of the same. The 45 gr load will go through a 1/2 " steel plate at 100 yrd. I hear the barrel is what Savag...

60 gr v-max -lethal ?

Had a box of 60 gr V-max bullets give to me and was wondering if they are very effective coyote killers. Did'nt know if I wanted to load up a few to try or stick with my 55 gr Sierra gamekings in my AR.

good 223 powder for AR's

Howdy guys, I got a S&W mp15 PC with a 20" heavy target barrel in 223 last summer and have had good luck with killing coyotes with it. But I use 25 gr of Varget in it and the muzzle velocity is around 2800 or so and it drops off pretty fast past 150 yrds. So I bought a pound of Ramshot Exte...

Re: Can pistol primers be used instead of small rifle primers?

I use winchester small pistol primers in my 22 hornet and it works great ! Better accuracy than useing small rifle primers. My little Ruger 77/22 gives me 1/2" groups with the 40 gr Hornady V-max, 11.3 gr of IMR 4227, Win brass, and Small Win pistol primers. It'll smack a coyote dead out to 130...

Re: Are they still makeing BR-4's ?

Thanks Rick, I guess I'll see if I can find my second choice then, Rem 7 1/2's. I hope there are a few around. I got a few cci 400's , but would rather not use them for my 204. Anyways, thanks again. :)
