Re: Fun with Skippy in 2012 Pt. 1

Wow Rick. I must say I have never seen such an abundance of squirrel mounds packed so close together. True varmint heaven. I'm jealous

One off of the "meatsickle"

Been crazy busy with work this past year with hardly any days off. I've gone through two "meatsickles" but the buggers are only coming in at night except for this one. He showed up right at "day break" this morning so I figured I better take a poke at him. Laid prone on the deck ...

Re: 45 GR Hornady Bullets?

The Hornady 45 gr sp is quite a bit shorter than any of the 40 ballistic tips which is why it tends to be fairly accurate. The 45's shoot little "bug holes" in all three of my 12 twist tubes. I've posted these pics before, but as you can see the 45 gr (just right of the 39 gr bk) is consid...

Re: Fox Shooting for Pelts with a .204 Ruger - Minimal Damag

Thanks all for the input. Can't go over 40gr in these 1:12 Twist Barrels, even one of the 40gr tried awhile back looked like it was on the edge of stability and had very poor groups. I think loading down might be the best bet and from the Rabbits shot with the 35gr Berger FBHP's look to be the leas...

Baba .....Gube is going to be very proud of you! I'm sure he'll chime in when/if he sees this. Remember to post some pics when you get her scoped and field ready. :D Gube.....got your yearly "meatcicle" frozen and out for bait yet to warm up that Tikka T3 243? Ah, yes, the ole meatsickle....

A couple of "meat bulls" for 2011

Our group managed to call in a few Moose for some Archery harvests. First one was mine shot on Oct 3 with my Hoyt Maxxis. Called in for a 25 yd shot. Must have been a real scrapper cuz he has one side of his antler busted right off. http://predatorhuntcanada.ca/photos/data/500/My_2011_moose.jpg My b...

Re: Cooper 20VT Meets Skippy

Way to go Rick. Been busy with work (and some ice fishing) so its been a while since my last visit over here. Our g-squirrels have just started showing up within this past week and look very enticing running over top of the snow. Most of our fields are still covered in snow. Hopefully if everything ...

Re: First Coyote and First Double with .204 Ruger

Sounds like a good "outing". Interesting on the use of a dog to bring em in. I know our yotes here have tried on numerous occasions to try and entice our dogs away from the yard.

Re: 204 ruger accuracy and penetration tests

The reason most 12 twists shoot the 45 gr sp's better than the 40 gr V-max is because the OAL of the 45 is shorter than the 40 v-max
Here is a pic with some OAL comparisons.
