That would be true if you only intend to engage one target at a time. Not disagreeing, just stating that repeaters have their purpose. For example, three coyotes coming in together to investigate your call.

I was talking with my dad who just purchased a used Savage 30-06 and we started to wonder how a 30-06 bullet would fair against a coyote. Went to the last two gun shops in town and struck out. Nobody keeps any long range varmint riffles in stock around here so that makes pretty difficult to compare side by side.

I went to the only two gun shops I know about in my part of town today and was able to look a few different riffles.
